Hooray!  Just found out my son will next be stationed in Beaufort, SC.  I still think I am dreaming.  He will be doing his next three years with the Marines but excited about being assigned as a helicopter Corpsman.  Still facing deployment but so excited that he will be so close to home when he is on U.S. soil.  Happy Easter to all.

Hello Sisters-well Louis is back in Norfolk. I couldn't take him to the airport because I didn't want him to see me cry but he told me that he had already paid for a flight to come back for Carolina's graduation. I spend some time with him but not much so I did not go to work one day. We had a nice time lying around and watching old football videos when he was in middle school. He did not have enough time to visit everyone but he did go to my school. He asked me not to walk around the school and do 'Show and Tell' with him.ha! Well that is EXACTLY what I did.

Glad to hear about all our sailors home for visits. I am so happy for all of us.

Julie-take your time coming to SC. We are patiently waiting for you.

I wish all of you a very wonderful Easter!

Hello All-I got a surprise today. My nephew came from Norfolk to see me and his daughters. He will be leaving Tues for foreign soil for 2 years. He had a chance to talk to Louis and I was happy and sad. He is my first 'son'. I took care of him while my sister worked. He is stationed in San Antonio but need to go through training in Norfolk before leaving. He arrived in Norfolk Friday night. Drove to see my dad yesterday and picked up one of his daughters then came to Columbia to get his other daughter. He is now back to Norfolk after dropping his daughters off and seeing my dad again. He had a busy weekend and I am getting tired all over again just thinking about all the driving he has done. Pray that he arrives back in Norfolk safely tonight. I probably won't be able to go to sleep until I hear his voice.

Ok ladies I am finally back!! This is what I mean. I was on my way to pick Louis up in Charlotte and he called me to tell me that his flight had been cancelled. Ok that was fine. He had to land in Atlanta. So I turn around and start driving to ATL. I get another call and he says that his seabag can not get on the flight and it would get to him later or the next day. Well you can't separate a Seaman from his seabag, right? I was then told that he would land in Raleigh,NC @ 11:30pm (For my sisters who do not know the distances-Charlotte is one and half hrs from me, Atlanta is three and half hrs from me and Raleigh is four hrs from me.) Now I am headed to Raleigh. @ 10:50 pm as I am 10 miles away from the airport, I get another call. Louis is still in Illinois. WHAT THE CORNBREAD HECK!!!!! (I remembered that phrase and it came in handy last night.LOL). They were waiting for a flight attendant and didn't know when one would be coming. At midnight he boarded a plane and @ 2:06am I saw my baby. Both of us were tired, sooo tired. When we embraced, it was like: Yeah, yeah nice to see you but I am tired and ready to go home!!! When we got one of his bags, his body wash had spilled inside the pocket and messed up his strap to his seabag. I took the bag to clean it. He was only concerned with the strap so he cleaned that. I still smell like Old Spice Body Wash!! I drove back because I did not think he was in any shape to drive. I played music and sang loud, put the window down and put the pedal to the metal. Got back home @ 5:50 this morning. After bringing in his luggage, I called his name and he was out like a light. I went to check on him and there he was on top of his bed in his underwear. After being up over 24 hrs, I was seeing double Sailors in the bed, walking like I had be partying with Annm and really needing to get in bed myself. Maybe today I can be VERY HAPPY to see me baby.

Susan-I may be driving the train with you. I may have a drink or two but that is my limit. The last time I 'let loose' I woke up pregnant with Louis!LOL I have been too scared to do THAT again.

CC0727 - Better pack for both!  The weather is still crazy here.  Might be 85 tomorrow and 65 the next day.  Shorts and a lite jacket should be fine!  With flip flops of course!

My son and his girlfriend (or should i say fiance) are planning an August wedding.  i love her to pieces and while i think they are young, i am just glad they are doing it out of love - she is not pregnant and he is not deploying LOL.  and regardless of what we tell our babies, they may hear what we say, but they will still do what they want.  so roll with it and bring on the Navy Mom Cocktail - with a side of advil!  : )  oh heck---make it a double!!!   now, how is the weather down there??  do i need to pack up my shorts or my sweats?  i am transporting things from home to their rooms at base, so i need to pack light.  i dont think that they would take kindly to me leaving their stuff at home for my oversized suitcase. LOL : )

To all of you traveling - please be safe.  We are headed to West "By God" Virgina to pick up my husbands son, we will have him for Spring Break.  Weatherman says to expect nasty weather.  I told my husband I was packing a life jacket, some snacks and a blanket.  It's all good.

Star Child - My husband asked what would be better than one Nuke income?  I looked at him alittle puzzled.  He said "Two Nuke incomes!"  I proceeded by throwing my cell phone at him.  He thinks its great.  Like you say, MEN!  But its only a big deal because I've made it one.  I need to sit back and be thankful.  Of all the things I could be worrying about, my son finding love shouldn't be one of them.  I need to quit sweating the small stuff!

Be safe out there Ladies!

Hippmom-I hope he can make it to the wedding. Those moments are so special and I know he will hate to miss it as well. I will pray for that leave.

Julie and CC- drive careful and I pray you have clear weather. And not get lost.LOL!

Now to my 'I am in love, want to get engaged and get married' Sisters- my heart started beating fast when I read the posts. I think it is something about the military that make the guys want to commit to a relationship before stepping off US soil. When I was 18 yrs old I was proposed to twice by two different guys. I was dating a guy in Va. and he was being deployed so we did not see each other any more. Then one of my best male friends asked me months later in SC because he was going to be deployed. He and I never even held hands but he said that he ALWAYS  loved me. ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!!! I don't know what it is but it must be the water!!!

Don't worry too much about it. My sailor does not want to get married because he has seen me go through a divorce with his dad BUT he wants children. Well I tried to explain to him that those two things do not go together. He should be married first then have children. And he said to me:'Come on mom you know you can have kids without marriage. Besides I am not thinking about women now. I want to travel and spend my money on ME!' His girlfriend broke up with him after boot camp and I think he is still hurting from that. I am picking him up in Charlotte today and I hope his thinking is a lot better.

My nephew, whose been in the Navy for 16 yrs, told him about all the women he will meet and he should stock up on condoms!!! Just in case. My question was just in case of what!!! They all looked at each other and laughed. INCLUDING MY FATHER, who was in the Army.  MEN! Can't live with them or without them. My nephew is married now. Thankfully my sailor has never been the type to sleep around. He has been faithful to the girls he dated. One of his girlfriends broke up with him in high school because he would not sleep with her. WOW! Some women. So ladies let's hope for a loooooonnnnng engagement and that they wait for God to send them the perfect one so their life together will be long, loving and wonderful.

Have a great weekend!! On my way to Charlotte.
