Thank you Tamme!!  I can't wait to get down there and hope the flowers are blooming too!  I mapquested and it should take me about 11 hours to drive down to SC not including potty breaks, road work or traffic.....oh and getting lost too i guess lol!!   guessing that leaving in the middle of the night will be the best bet!  : )  once in SC it will be visiting there and then down to GA to see my other Sailor and then back!  got the oil changed and the brakes checked and ready to go...soooo excited to hit the road!!

I empathize with you, Sandy.  My son is talking engagement to a girl back home that he hasn't dated in almost a year and she didn't even come to see him before he left for boot camp in November or wrote him at boot camp.  After boot camp, she decides he is the love of her live?  Give me a break.  However, like you said, at least it keeps him out of trouble being "tied" to one back home.

Good morning all!  Looks like everyone is hanging in there - like a hair in a biscut!  LOL!  So glad to hear of the coming home and times well spent with family.

Heres my update, yall might want to sit down for this one!!!  My son calls me the other night and says "Ummm...Mom I need to tell you something."  My reply was, as long as you aren't calling me to tell me you're a Dad, tell me.  He proceeds to tell me NO he is not going to be a Dad but something just as close!  !@#$%  %^^&*!!!!  I said many bad words!!  He met a girl the second week in Goose Creek and has asked her to marry him.  !#$%  ^&&*!!!  I'm still saying bad words!!  Crazy train??  Oh God!!  EVery question I had and every reason he shouldn't just spewed from my mouth within about 10 seconds!!  He knew I needed time for this so he called me back a few hours later. Heres the plan.  It will be a long engagement.  They will finish school and get past their first deployment before they decide to actually marry.  Ok...I'm better now.  I'm looking at about three years.,  I can deal with this.  I guess its better to be comitted to someone while there instead of sleeping around with everybody, right?  Things could be worse, she could be pregnant, right?  Ok, so he loves a girl, if thats the worse thing that happens while my son is in the Navy, I should consider myself blessed, right?  I'm looking for the silver lining, the good that can come from two very young people trying to make it in the big wide world.  Better to do with someone, than be alone, right?  I hear its lonesome out there!  This too shall pass.  I got to pull up my big girl panties, because if I dont, yall will surely see my a$$!!!

Happy Friday, yall!!!

Hello All, Just came by to tell you that my sailor will be home Fri. I will not know where his flight will land-Columbia, Charlotte or Charleston. Navy is diverting his flight home on his way to Norfolk. He told me that he would know tomorrow evening. I told my principal that I may or may not be at work Fri AND I may or may not be at work next Fri. I think he knows I may not be at work!!! Really excited to see him. He said that he may do the RAP program. From my understanding he will be working with the Navy Recruiter's office next week. He has to report to Norfolk on the 22nd. I was hoping it would rain again because he car is dirty and I don't feel like washing it. Plus I have to take all of my things out of the car. DANG!! Looks like I will be cooking daily which is something I have not been doing either. I know my family will be happy to get cooking from me because I have been asking them to have supper done when I get home. HA!

Hampton Inn on Highway 52 is suggested by my husband.  Ask for a military discount.  Your son can always help you with that.  Also, I believe there is some sort of Navy Housing on base for families?  Check out their website.  I'll see what I can find as well.

There are many hotels up in that area.  I'll ask my husband his opinion since he works closer to that area and they've added so much.  There is a great Embassy Suites with free full hot breakfast and free happy hour.  It isn't right near the base but in the North Charleston area.  All the hotels right there near the airport are nice.  I'll get back to you.  The flowers are blooming so I hope they stay beautiful for you.

Helloooooo my SC Mamas!!  Finally readying up for the road trip south to see my Sailors, so....with that being said....any recommendations for good CLEAN hotels in the GooseCreek/Charleston area?  I am deathly afraid of catching bed bugs, so willing to pay whatever for a good clean room! LOL. : )  Thank you for your help!! : )

Well Ladies...seems by son has not been "brainwashed" by the Navy just yet.  But he did pick up a few bad habits.  Ughhh!  He came home Friday and left Sunday.  When I checked his room, the bed was left just like when he crawled out of it.  His dress shirt was left in the kitchen floor.  I thought all of this would be taken care of.  He would pick up and clean up after himself......NOT!!  He was home and Mom would take care of everything.  Bad habits, smoking and cussing, like a Sailor.  Have mercy!!

Hello All-I have calmed down since my last post. Susan, you had me laughing so hard. I really needed that.

My sailor thinks his pay will still be cut but he is going to the White Sox games for free and is very excited. He is still in GL and don't know when he will be going to Norfolk. I miss my baby and I want to see him.

Well Sisters, it is time to get ready for the work week. Love to all and have a wonderful night and week.
