Hello Sisters-happy to hear the good news from everyone especially you Susan and I will pray for the others who are leaving this great US soil. Louis said that he wants to get another car since he will be in port for awhile. I don't know yet if he is coming home when he leaves GL but either way I see ROAD TRIPS in my future.

Well the broadcast was great. Louis posted a thank you to Mr. Martin. He was very proud of me and I was proud of myself. God is shifting me down a path and I can see it. It is sort of scary too.

There is a Tuesday broadcast each week (5pm-9pm CST) and this Saturday he will be playing Jazz music from 3pm-7pm CST-a special broadcast. When I gave out the website I put www in the front. Don't type that in when you go to the site.

Well I have to make up a Snow day tomorrow so this is not a typical Friday for me. No late night tv watching with chips and other junk food laying on my chest. No passing out on the sofa @ 3 am. AND no cartoon watching (on the same sofa I passed out on) when I wake up in the morning. So my Sisters enjoy your Friday and have a wonderful weekend.

Susan - I feel your excitement!  So happy for you.  "Worry"  is a heavy bag of bricks to drag around.  Lay it down for awhile and come back later for it or just give it all to God.  Time to do the ChaCha Dance!  Huggs!

So true.  It isn't fair.  Excelling should mean something.  It doesn't give these guys a good message at all.

That makes no sense to me.  My son-in-law is in the Coast Guard and he said that anyone with E-6 and above are not being allowed to re-enlist as well is not needed.  I never thought I'd see the day that the military branches didn't allow anyone to remain in as a career.  Scares me for both my Sailors and I keep telling them they need to enroll in classes to work towards degrees.  Can your son try to crosstrain?  Even though the Coast Guard is laying off in many areas, I bet being an EM with experience might be needed.  Maybe he can try them?

Hippmom, I pray that your son is able to re-enlist.  Why are they taking new EM's then?  I don't understand the whole process anymore.  My son just went in last October as an EM.  Of course, when he accepted that job, they didn't tell him how hard it is to advance and I didn't know it until reading things on here.  Across the branches, more and more are not being able to re-enlist.  Never would have drempt that would happen in time of war.

hippmom - I went thru my sons stuff about two weeks after he left.  I couldnt stand it no more.  The things I found in his night stand still leave me dazed and confused!  Hehehe.  Everything from condoms to fishing lures.  Hand held games that I paid good money for, completely torn apart.  Calculators, cell phones, and a computer camera of some sort.  All taken apart so he could check out the "guts".  Is that a typical boy thing?  I threw out more peices of  electronic stuff than you can imagine.  Crazy boy!  All dress shirts were balled up and shoved in the back of drawer that was overstuffed with other stuff.  Geez!!  I sure miss that mess ~

Hipmom - wow ~ Seems like they would ask for volunteers who wanted to go home first before trying to get rid of those wanting to stay.  I can't imagine your dissapointment.

Annm - My friends name is Judy, her son is PFC Winyard Hill.  Prayers are being sent for your friend who has lost a Dad. I know how devastating that is.

Its been a long evening here.  My daughter has finally taken over my Sailors room.  Much painting, trimming and sweat and the job is now done.  His stuff now occupies the smallest room in the house.  Reminds me of a hunting lodge.  Deer horn curtain rods, camo bedding, arrows and hunting things on every wall.  Maybe he wont be to upset!

Susan - Doing the happy dance for you!  I'm so glad you were finally able to talk with your son.  My best friends son left yesterday at 5am for Afganistan. Army Infrantry.   I cried just as bad as she did.  My heart is heavy for her.  She was told his only shelter will be his tent that fits in his pack.  No communication for the next year ~ Prayers for all that serve!
