Corpsman boots on ground!  He and his team arrived at CL yesterday afternoon.  Hope they release him to come home soon.  Thanks to the Good Lord and also to all of you for your prayers and support.  Prayers continue for all.

You can call his recruiter and he may have it already.  I did that with both of my boys and I was able to start writing before I received the letter with his division information.  I still keep in touch with moms I met through bootcampmoms and started our own division group.  What is your son planning on doing?  I have a Corpsman and an Electrician's Mate.  Both did A-school in Great Lakes right after boot camp.

Good to hear from you armynavymom.  I've been so busy that I haven't been on in a while either.  Patiently awaiting our son's return from Afghanistan.

Welcome,Rhondalyn10.  Check out bootcampmoms as well and you might be able to find others in your son's division.  I am not sure if they will offer it this year, but we were able to fly out and spend Christmas Day with our other Navy son when he was in boot camp.

Kellyd, I believe the Trident Community Foundation in Charleston can help you.  They often have people interested in donating.  Good luck.

Hi ladies,

I am in need of some ideas/help. I am the chair of an exchange student program for SC. I am looking for some businesses who might be interested in creating scholarships for students from SC who would like to be an exchange student. It is a tax write off for the businesses.
While preparing myself to send my son off to the Navy our family got involved in hosting exchange students. Then that lead into my somehow becoming the chair for the SC Chapter for the exchange program. This is my first year trying to find students to send for next school year. I have only handled finding families who want to have exchange students here.
I am not trying to solicit, I just need some ideas.

Thank you ladies.

Us too Tamme . First one in white was so paranoid of getting food splashed at lunch on his uniform in September ,and he froze. Second sailor 6 months later in blues but steaming hot march in Chicago we nearly all passed out !
Congrats Averymom.

I am so glad you loved PIR.  It is something I will never forget.   We were able to see one in blues and one in whites.

@ Toriann my second sailor was also 24 when he went in . It was a lot easier than one of our youngest at 18 . But Good Luck to your son and keep writing those letters . They really do get them through their days .
