Star Child!!  - How dare you say SNOW!!  Right now thats considered a bad word!  NO SNOW NO SNOW NO SNOW!!!  I need to get out of Myrtle Beach and Charlotte without snow.  You know both will close with the least little flurry.  OMG I will worry to death until I make it to Chicago.  After PIR, once my son leaves, bring it on, I'm ready.  Not until then!

NO SNOW - NO ICE - we have GOT to get to Chicago on Thursday!  Please dear lord don't let the weather get to the point that Charlotte Airport has to close again!

Hello Sisters,

Wow so much excitement on here now. CALLS, PIR and HOMECOMINGS! I can remember my call and PIR. It was just two months ago:) Looking forward to hearing all about it. I heard SC might get more snow. WHOOPPEEEE! I would hate to make up the school days after being off 3 1/2 wks but I love snow.

Have not heard where Louis will be stationed but no matter where he is, you can bet his mom will be flying to see him. We should heard something in 3 wks. My heart is pounding with excitement but it is no big deal to Louis. Why does this man make me want to spank him??? It is a BIG deal to me. He text me today to tell me to send him a care package. He had a list of things so I got 2 texts. I wanted to say, That's not a big deal, but I know I am going to get whatever he needs.

Hope all of my Navy Sisters have a good Sunday and a snowy week:)

Denise - Thanks for the encouragement.  I know today will be a big day for him.  I know he was looking forward to BS21.  As always, I wish I could  have talked to him yesterday.  Kinda bummed ~ Congrats on the nomination,I know you are so proud.  I'll start collecting my stuff today for my bag.  I keep getting so worked up that I almost feel sick.  I'm so nervous!!!!  Looking forward to seeing you soon - enjoy your day!  Hugs!

Sandy...thoughts and prayers and with you and your son today as he gets ready for BS21 tonight!  I know he will do great!  My son's division goes Monday night...Jill's son too I think!

I got a phone call yesterday after Captains Cup.  He says Div 057 is in the running with 054 for Hall of Fame, but 054 didn't score real high in BS21 (3.9 I think).  So...if 054 beats their score, they should get Hall of Fame!  What that means exactly, I don't know.  I'm also anxiously waiting for the list of awards and honor grads to be released on Wednesday...my SR has been nominated for one of them (don't know which one though).

Only five days left...four till we leave!  I can't wait...my other kids are coming for dinner today to get their "briefing" from mom about what/how to pack, etc. Just praying that the weather is okay and we get there without any delays!

I still have blue candles burning on my computer desktop for all your sailors in Battle Stations.  Sandy, wish the darn airlines didn't charge for baggage.  I'd send a suitcase with you to my son.  I am going to have to mail his clothes and computer since they wouldn't let us leave anything with him.  I told him I wish I could be on the plane with you guys next week.

Our initial plan was to drive, but after the crazy weather started, and the thought of buying meals and paying for gas, we opted to fly.  Will cost about the same.  Now I hear more crazy weather is coming, my nerves are shot.  I feel the need to puke.  Insurance adjusters, refunds, cars blah, blah blah. Just need to hear from my boy!  He totaled his car before he left and mine was totaled about two weeks ago. Still going thru that!  Yuck!  Be safe in your travels, Jill.  Thats a long way from home!

Our call came in mid afternoon as well last week and he had 30 minutes to talk.  Of course, he cut us off at 25 minutes so he had time to buy a Red Bull before they had to leave the NEX area.  LOL  Just so relieved to get that call and to hear his voice.  Expect a very tired voice.

Denise, we are staying at The Holiday Inn Express, 611 Lakehurst Rd. Waukegan. My husband says it’s about six miles from the base. He thinks we can make the drive in one day; the trip should take between 13 to 19 hours. We have four drivers and will switch out as needed.
