Somehow we made it to Chicago and back and was able to share the Christmas Day with our son in bootcamp.  It was worth it all!  First White Christmas in Chicago in 13 years.  Figures.  My husband had never driven in snow and we had it going in and going out - eight inches of unplowed major highway into Chicago Sunday morning.  Then we get to Atlanta, snowing and then Charleston, snowing!  Hope it is all out of is system when we return January 14 for PIR.  Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.

Thankful to live in the South!  I'm in Columbia and can still see a little snow on the roadside, but all in all it's gone (thank goodness).  Looking forward to the warmer temps this weekend, especially since we are going to Charleston for the Polar Plunge for Special Olympics!

Connie - Makes me glad I cut my Christmas plans short.  I didnt want to be stuck traveling in nasty weather.  Our snow in South Carolina didn't stick even though it snowed all day yesterday.  I'm at work this morning in Surfside Beach.  I pray you get home soon.

Hello Everyone,  I am so happy for those of you who had your Sailors with you this Christmas and Susan you and your son are in my prayers and next Christmas we will all celebrate with you.  My son is here and must leave tomorrow to go back to Norfolk.  I am so worried about this weather and the fact that he has to travel in it to get back on time.  Your prayers will be most appreciated.  Take care and God bless.

Merry Christmas my sisters!! Louis is home with my laptop. His friends were over last night and stayed until the wee hours in the morning. A lot of loud laughing and talking so I didn't get much sleep but I was happy to have him home. He has been gone all day today and probably tomorrow. We will have dinner together on tomorrow and spend New Year's Eve watching Carolina and Florida State. Louis likes them both but Florida State is his number one. He leaves Jan 1.

Vincent walked down our stairs two days ago and the steps collapsed. I refused to let that break my spirit. I called the insurance company but no one will be coming out until next week. We had to stable the staircase so we could use them. What is the purpose of homeowner's insurance? I thought I told you that the wind blew the trim off my home about two weeks ago but the insurance company said that the house was still livable and my deductible would cover the damage. Now they want to know why my steps broke before they commit to paying a claim. The last time I checked I was paying them!!!

Well my sisters I want to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas. Hope everyone has heard from our sailors and for those of you that are blessed to have your sailor home enjoy the holiday. Luv you much!!!

Thanks for the well wishes.  The Bobster PIR 02/18.  He is Ship 09, Div 077.  His note say that it was really COOL!  It thrilled me to hear that he was happy.  He also said that it is really COLD.

I went to the surgeon today and he was pleased and said that things were healing well and I will see him next week.  Probably can expect Chemo.

Bobsters Mom - My thoughts and prayers are with you.  Stay strong my friend!

Hippmom - Count me in for Lake Murray.  There is nothing better than friendship and fellowship on the water!!  As the song says, "let your igloo cooler mark your peice of paradise!"
