I've been cruising and had a ball,,,,but I don't think I would enjoy it so much without all the comfort!

I saw on CNN today that the USS Abraham Lincoln assisted with the Carnival cruise ship. WOW. I have never been on a cruise and with all the things happening, I don't think I want to go.
One of the mother heard from her recruit and she told her that her division won two flags- one for athletics and the other for compartment inspection. That is the same division as my son.

Connie-I am getting excited about going to PIR

Isn't that the truth Connie! I look at the calender everyday, today is 33 left before he leaves.

The Bobster is home from his dad's for a meeting with his recruiter tomorrow. Wow, just a week of working out, swimming and runnning has really changed his look already. I can't imagine what he will look like at PIR. I can't believe he leaves in less than 34 days!

Susan-You can ride on my train anytime. My sisters have reserve seating. I know that his packages will get to him soon. When my nephew was gone I could email him. When I got a message back I was so happy to hear from him. I am about to experience having my son far away from me. I really don't want to think about it. GL is one thing but tour duty is something else. I am going to watch him sleep in two weeks and hug and kiss him so much he will probably tell me to stop.
So hop on board our trains. You have always had supportive words for all of us now it is time for us to support you.

I thought I would post a joke once or twice a week until my son's PIR. I'm in a
jokin' mood.

The Navy Chief and his Parrot
The old Navy Chief finally retired and got that chicken ranch he always wanted. He took with him his life-long pet parrot.
First morning at 0430, the parrot squawked loudly and said, “Reveille, Reveille. Up all hands. Heave out and trice up. The smoking lamp is lighted, now Reveille.”
The old chief told the parrot, “We are no longer in the Navy. Go back to sleep.”
The next morning, the parrot did the same thing. Chief told the parrot, “If you keep this up, I'll put you out in the chicken pen.”
Again the parrot did it, and true to his word, the Chief put the parrot in the chicken pen.
About 0630 the next morning, the Chief was awakened by one heck of a ruckus in the chicken pen. He went out to see what was the matter. The parrot had about 40 white chickens at attention in formation, and on the ground laid 3 bruised and beaten brown chickens. The parrot was saying, “By God, when I say fall out in dress whites, I don't mean Khakis!”

Susan-thanks for giving me the heads up about Operational Security duty officer. Now I know I should take my spare straight jacket or even the eye drops that make my eyes look WILD. I am packing my 'crazy' kit now. I hope he is good because I got a few tricks up my sleeve too. If I need help I will send a bottle down the Atlantic on a speed wave to be picked up in NMB. Plus I will send some storm clouds down to SC that spell N-a-v-y-s-i-s-t-e-r-n-e-e-d-s-h-e-l-p. When you see this cloud you will know it is me. Keep checking the Chicago Tribune too. I may be on the front page!!!!!!!

I am sooooo happy to see my son. On the high on the roller coaster.

OMG!!!! I can see the chillaxed look on your face. No wait-that is pride and relief. Give Thad a hug from the SC N4Ms. You may have told us but how long is he home?
Comment by StarChild (Ship9 Div007) on November 7, 2010 at 8:01pm
Susan-yes I am on my way and I don't need swim there now:) Glad I waited too because I would have missed all of his letters (HA). I wonder if Operational Security was looking for me. You think?
