My oldest son just told me to CHILL OUT. He is planning to join the Navy as well so I hope by the time he leaves I will be able to chill out. BUT for now I am unchilled (is that a word?). Who cares it sounds good to me.

Thanks Susan, I am looking at hotels and restaurants in the area. I want to stay some place with a kitchen so I can fix him one of his favorite meals. I don't know if the PIR is 11/24 or 12/3. If it is 11/24 I know we will be watching football on Thanksgiving so I will be preparing the meal. I have been learning to WAIT but I have a problem with not being in control. I want to go to Great Lakes, knock on the door and say 'I want to see my son for a minute please then I will be on my way. Oh yeah could you hand me the letter while you're at it'.

I just called Great Lakes and she could not give me the information over the telephone but she did talk to me and reassured me that the letter is coming. I need to wait on the USPS. I do feel better now. I don't know if it is because I spoke to someone at Great Lakes or I know the letter is coming. Either way my nerves are calming down.

Susan I don't know how I am doing today. I had a dream about my son last night. It could be that I uploaded pics to my page before I went to bed but I woke up thinking about him. I am trying to find the number to Great Lakes so I can get his address. When I hear his voice I will be much better. No I think I would be better if I know the PIR date, his ship and division but I am taking one day at a time.

I can't wait to see how my son has changed. I hope he is the same: silly, loving, caring and responsible. He would be cooking (because he said that I needed something to eat after work) or watching tv and he would start doing a crazy dance. He looked like the scarecrow on Wizard of Oz. Or he would start galloping around the house because he was BORED. He had won the hula hoop contest when he was in elementary school so sometimes he would grab my hoop and challenge me to a "duel". Weapon of choice: the hula hoop. Wow saying that has made me feel so much better. Thanks N4M. I don't know what I would do without you.

Wow this the first Sunday we are watching football all day without our son. I am crying now.

Nice pic Ann. I am proud as well.
Hippmom- We bought a newspaper today to send my son the article about Carolina. His dad said he was calling the recruiter on Tuesday. I think he is a little nervous too. His brother kept saying 'I need my brother here' when he was screaming and hollering during the football game. I want to see my son or at least get a note from him.

Annm-Thanks for the encouraging words. I got the BOX two days ago so I guess I can wait until Wed since Monday is a holiday. I didn't think to label the letters so I am going to do that right now. I am just so nervous. I am just being a mother.

I have not received the letter yet. How long does it take? I thought the letter was mailed when the BOX was mailed. I need to know his address. I am getting nervous.

Good Afternoon,
I have to say that hearing your stories has made me cry and laugh at the same time. I didn't know that was possible but I am doing it right now.
Well I cried at work today. I printed a picture of him swearing in and I have it on my book shelf. My coworkers are comforting me but it doesn't work. My son volunteered at my school and my principal (a male) told me he didn't know if he could take going into his room and knowing he is not there. Well my son left his room as if he would be returning in a few minutes. His bed is not made up, his shorts and shoes are on the chair and he left a pile of clean clothes in a basket. I have not cleaned it up yet but I plan on sleeping in his room UNTIL. I don't know when that is but when I move back into my room then I will know when UNTIL is.
I am so ready to enlist and be with my son. When my oldest one goes in I don't know what I am going to do. We call ourselves the 3 Musketeers and we want to move to VA at some point but for now I can truly say that the SC Moms are All for one and One for all. Thanks
