Hi Moms,

The Navy is looking for a N4M representative in the Charleston area to possibly work on some events and community service projects in the near future. Send us private messages if you are interested along with your contact info! We are not sure of what the event(s) or project(s) are at this time.

Thanks so much!

Hello All - hope you all had a fabulous Thanksgiving! It was quiet here, without either my daughter or her husband, for the first time (we sent my daughter to my sister's for the week). I'm glad we'll be away for Christmas - it would be way too quiet to stay here! My son-in-law's granddad passed away early yesterday morning, and my daughter awoke to the email first, due to the time difference. We were afraid he'd sit around all day and be depressed, since he hasn't been able to meet too many people yet - hopefully he'll finish all the paperwork this week and finally get to his sub. I went on a couple of Hawaii groups here, put out the word, and had five different Thanksgiving offers for him before he even woke up in Hawaii! This site is a fantastic gift!

Too funny, Ann - my husband's a teacher, and in the program to get his masters in administration...

I'm a new Navy mother-in-law - our new 'son' came into the picture when he was at NNPTC in Goose Creek a bit over a year ago. I'm trying to catch up on all of this quickly! Too many acronyms to learn!

We have too much in common - I lost my dad last December. That doesn't get easier, either, does it? We were prepared for the tears, but everyone was trying to make a conscious effort at the airport to talk about anything but him leaving. Of course, he was the last one on the plane, and when he finally had to get on, we all fell apart. My daughter's having a really hard time, and stayed here with us the first night, but we had to push her to go back to their apartment last night. Hopefully packing and taking care of her dogs will keep her busy.

Hi Ann, we put my son-in-law of only two weeks on a plane for Pearl Harbor yesterday morning - it feels like the day I left my son at college twelve years ago, but I got through it then, and I'll get through it now, and I'll have to get through it again in a few weeks when my daughter joins him. I know exactly how you feel...
