My husband has been done at a school in pensacola for 3 weeks now. He is ATO and has not classed up for firefighting or ATT. Several other guys who are ATO, AE or ATI from his division at boot camp have already classed up.. Does anyone have any idea when he might class up? I am stuck up here in Iowa with 3 kids under 5 and would really like hubby home soon.
Does anyone know what the current hold time is for ATO/ATI or AE?
graidar5 ok got it yes i know peeps who were AE/ATO/ATI yeah classing up then 4 months a school then off to norfolk for c school.....
yeah if hubby is there a long time i will move us for the summer and then go from there.....
Hi Dani, my wife is still in bootcamp, she will report to A school in late March. Her school is 6 months, and I currently have a friend in the school right now and they are taking 2 months to class up at this point due to a lack of instructors. Her actual school is 4-6 months depending on where they place her within the AV rating which breaks into AE/ATI/ATO. Yes, she was told this in her briefing and we have a friend going through it right now who has been there about 6 months now and graduates in March.
She's going to be there from April until at least October, we might as well go down there since we can afford the move ourselves. Guess we'll see once it gets here. I'm sure things will fall into place.
Graidar5 is your 6 to 8 months the time frame with waiting to class up and class??? When did your wife arrive?? On her briefing was she told the 6 to 8 months???? To explain my post yes his actual A school is 4 weeks with 2 weeks C school but after briefing last night they were informed the wait to class up right now is growing due to the lack of instructors.... I do know that could change at anytime lol but as of now thats what he was told.... so we wait......lol and wait until updated :0) if this time line is in affect once school is out we may move there for the summer....
Hi Dani,
We're going through the same thing, my wife is going AE and school will be at least 6 months, but most likely closer to 8. We are going to work on moving down there between April and June depending on whether we can find a good school for our three girls.
Hubby is safe and sound at pensacola..... He was told he will be there 7 1/2 months for AD :0 ( Classing up is going to take awhile as not enough instructors and to many sailors.... so im told ... may have to figure out some living arrangments... thats to long for this family apart.....
Hello, my wife is going to be going to Pensacola at the end of March. Does anyone have any recommendations for schools in the area for elementary age kids? We are hoping to do a long stay hotel for the time she is there until we can get an apartment. We don't mind paying out of pocket for the move, just looking for some recommendations if anyone else has had kids in the area. Appreciate any responses.
Hello! I have a question for updating info... My husband returned to base last week and got the packet from his instructor to update his information (going from single to married etc). Is that all the paperwork we need to fill out in order to have everything updated or do we have to go to other sources as well for additional paperwork? I just want to make sure we have everything correct before he is given his first orders. Thanks for your help in advance! :)
