Here is a link that you will need to check out. It is a FAQ about PCS moves and what $$'s are available.

Space A Travel Eligibility
Ok, this is a very important link and I hope it stays valid if I forget to update it. Just so everybody knows, legal dependents are now allowed to travel Space A while their military sponsor is on deployment orders. If you don't know what this is it is very simple. You can fly at little cost almost anywhere in the world on a government aircraft. You sign up on a list and wait for your number to be called. So, if your sailor is deployed to say, Japan, you can jump on a Space A flight to Japan for say 30 dollars. I don't know the exact amount, but it is cheap. Take a look at this, Google Space A travel, you will get all the answers you need. If you have more questions, ask.

Amber,
Sorry to hear about the bb status. That sucks, but I imagine you see him everyday anyway. Some people. I hear about glad to be away from Pensacola. Me too, not much going on down here, that is my opinion anyway.

lovemysailor,
where to start. the moving thing is kind of interesting. First, all the info will be on the orders when he gets them. From what my sailor has said, it is at week 5 that they chose, then we will at least know where we are going. I think it is also week 5 that they issue orders, but I am hoping that as soon as she says they picked I can go on the personnel website and see them myself.
So, on the orders will be all the stuff you asked, but here is some more info. If you are married before the orders are issued then they should be accompanied orders, meaning he has a spouse and or dependents. I haven't been able to get a clear picture about the move. Nobody has answered that for me yet. She has a couple of friends in her bb room that are getting out of here soon so I am hoping to find out about what the Navy will do as far as reimbursement for a move, and if it is from home of record or from Pensacola. I don't know but I am thinking her brown bagger status may effect where they will pay us for the move from to the new duty station.
He should be authorized to move your car, that is called a POV (personally owned vehicle).
DON'T count on leave after A-school. I have heard of it being denied. I don't want to scare you but it is possible that he may not be allowed leave.
Another thing, DLA is available for military members also. It is called Dislocation Allowance and he has to fill out paperwork for it at his indoc at his new duty station. If he stays in after his initial enlistment than you will get it before PCS'ing but since this is his initial enlistment you get it at your first duty station. You are authorized DLA because he has dependents, BUT it can be denied according to what I have heard.

Comment by Gman Navy Husband on June 29, 2010 at 1:14am
yeah I can take in your mail. You could also put a hold on it through the postal service website. I do it all the time and you can even have the held mail delivered if you want it that way.

Hey guys long time no talk!
We never got our brown bag status :-( they denied it. Chief said A school was for training and there is no room for wives in the sailors lives at this junction - well whatever! He's doing great and will be graduating on 08/24! I have to say we will probably be glad to be away from Pensacola.
Comment by Gman Navy Husband on June 28, 2010 at 12:32pm
yeah, that is a b$%ch because they are still taking my wife's out and she put the paperwork in on time last pay period. She has a room mate in the brown bagger room that was getting it taken out the entire time she has been a brown bagger. My wife said this time around that they need to go to an office and tell them to stop taking it out, even though the paperwork was sent to their office!
