Here is a link that you will need to check out. It is a FAQ about PCS moves and what $$'s are available.

My Base Guide

Space A Travel Eligibility
Ok, this is a very important link and I hope it stays valid if I forget to update it. Just so everybody knows, legal dependents are now allowed to travel Space A while their military sponsor is on deployment orders. If you don't know what this is it is very simple. You can fly at little cost almost anywhere in the world on a government aircraft. You sign up on a list and wait for your number to be called. So, if your sailor is deployed to say, Japan, you can jump on a Space A flight to Japan for say 30 dollars. I don't know the exact amount, but it is cheap. Take a look at this, Google Space A travel, you will get all the answers you need. If you have more questions, ask.

I used movers. I think they were called "Moving Mastered" or something along those lines and they were FABULOUS! Check out emove.com. It's uhaul's website for movers in different areas. We paid like 200 bucks for 3 guys for 3 hours and it was SO worth it.

lovemysailor- While they are waiting to be classed up most people just do barrick support (lots of cleaning) but there are other jobs he can volunteer for as well. They keep them busy :) As soon as liberty is called for the day he can see you. During phase one its on base liberty only and he has to wear his uniform. During phase two you can go sign him out and go to dinner and such, they just have to be back by like 10 each night and midnight on weekends. No cars yet during phase 2 but he does get to wear civilian clothes again. Then during phase 3 he can drive and can have weekend overnights.

Chances are good that you are on your own as far as the uhaul goes. He may be able to put in for some out of bounds leave during phase 2 or 3 but I'm not sure about all that.

Brown bagger is a packet of crazy that they have to put together and then turn in for approval. They need your apartment lease and a bunch of different information about where you live here in pensacola and such. Also need signatures from the housing office and things like that. Just a bunch of tedious paperwork (not hard, just gotta jump a few hoops). They say once you turn it in it takes about 2-3 weeks to get approved. My hubby is finally getting his turned in tomorrow so hopefully he'll be able to live at home soon.

And he can have a car during phase 3 but still has to have a liberty buddy (you count as his liberty buddy). Hope that helps :)

Hello all!! I need everyones advice and help. My hubbys graduating from boot camp may 21st....I'm like 6 and half months prego. Due july 13. My husband is going to A school in pensacola.... he is going to be and airman...his class is 8 weeks long and who knows how long it could take for his class to even start. so we were thinking of me possibly moving there once he arrives there. bc it may be 2,3,4 or more months away from me and our four year old son and the one on the way. We also def don't want him to miss out on the birth and stuff. We live in north carolina at the moment. I know military won't pay for us to move out there and stuff....but anyone have any advice also know at first he won't be able to stay overnight tell in the right phase or soemthin. But does anyone know of any month to month rentals and stuff. And after we move there on our own expence the military will move us to his first duty station from there correct??? Would it be better to leave all stuff in storage in nc or just go ahead and move it all to fl with us???

He is actually an e2 because of his schooling...thsat would stink for no sd oreder or atleast something west coast....I'm sooo over east coast I would rather do over seas than east coaast. I know this is probably a no but can they call u before they make there choice???? Also I don't know if ur hubby has heard of it before or knows but someone at boot camp told my husband that when he gets to aschool he needs to right away tell the command that I'm preg and due really soon and they may send him back to us until baby is born and off course the 10 day baby leave?? What u think???? I'm due july 13 so he def would not make it back on time he grads boot may 21st
