Yes Mommacat, it it 53 here in Springfield today. Thank God. I need the warmer weather. I am going up to NE to see my son for a week in April. Can't wait to visit with him and give him hugs.

We are north of Gravois Mills, Carmaletta. I do some of my shopping at the lake. It's a pretty area, isn't it? Your son is stationed in NE, Melissa? Glad you get to go see him. Are you Springfield ladies getting a taste of spring today? We finally are. It's great!!

Glad to hear things are going good for you Mommacat. My son is now stationed in Nebraska. I am going up to see him in early April for at least a week. He will be checking his work schedule to see when is best for him.

Well, Morgan County isn't exactly close to Springfield, but we do get down your way and love it there. Our son was just home on leave before heading back to Norfolk for a class (maybe/hopefully) and then back to sea. He's on the Barry.

Kelley, I hope your son has a good cruise. My sailor graduated back in 2001 from GLENDALE. YEAH YEAH !!!!!!!!!!!! I now have an 18 year old that is graduating this year and her brother graduates in 2 years. Both go to Glendale also. We live right across the street from Glendale. I will have 2 other kids graduating in a few more years. Tell your son to take as many pics as he can and if you can try to post some on your page. Make sure that they are not giving away any info about our fleet or anything that should be kept quiet. I had not heard about the USS Vinson being sent. My husband just told me that we had sent a carrier down there. Hope you all have a good evening. Going to call it a night for now.

Becky, I agree. Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and all heard from your sailors. Mine made a surprise visit to us on Thanksgiving night. We have had a nice visit and the best part about it is that he is taking his dad home with him for a two week visit. That is the best part for me.

Veleda, great to hear that your sailor is in Japan. My son spent 2 years there and absolutely loved it. If he could get shore duty, he would probably go back. He just did not like life on a Destroyer. He started his career on an aircraft carrier that had a crew of 6,000 and then went to a destroyer with a crew of 300. Hope your son had a great time in Japan. Tell him to spend lots of time if he can sight seeing and take lots of pictures. I have some posted on my page.

Yes my son will be home for Thanksgiving or at least he says that he will. He can't come for his Dad's birthday which is Monday of that week but that's okay as long as he is here for Thanksgiviing.
