Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Hey Mackenzi33! Get there early! Security is not too difficult but there will be lots of people. It's bleacher type seating and you will sit in the area assign for your sailor's division. The earlier you are there the better the seat. It lasts close to 2 hours. I cannot tell you how emotional it is when you see the divisions march in and you see your sailor for the first time in two months! Bring your camera!

This is all information from around 2 years ago-
We arrived at the gate at 6:30 AM, and parked on base in the multilevel parking garage. it was already around 1/4 full. We walked to the building between the garage and the Hall, and waited in line (which snaked around through a mini-museum area) until we got to the tables where security was checking ID's vs. The List. That was it. We then walked into the Hall, and got a row of 4 seats about 4 rows from the front, in front of where our sailor told us he would be standing.
While I did get good-enough seats, I feel that if I had arrived earlier, and used a shuttle instead of driving, I would have gotten better seats.
Our second sailor is going in this July. I'll be advising my wife to take an early shuttle.

Mackenzie, Be sure to go to Sarge's Meet and Greet on Thursday night. You can meet a whole bunch of other Navy families. There is a Buffet dinner and Sarge will fill you in on ALL the details for PIR.
