Submarine moms are special:
--- All of us have boys, "SAILORS!"
--- Who serve on "boats,"
--- With whereabouts unknown, and
--- We only get sporadic, short emails while they're out!
Tell us where your sailor serves...
Well let’s see
1) USS New Jersey (not built yet)
via 2)USS Montana
via 3) USS La Jolla ( to be scraped)
The La Jolla is being converted to a nuclear prototype MTS.
My son, Jonathan, is a third class petty officer MMAFR (Machinist Mate Fireman Recruit) aboard the USS Washington. He joined the crew last year. Any other moms have a son who serves on the USS Washington?
My son is assigned to the USS Key West. He reports late March 2020. He is an MMN3.
Our son is an SECF ET-R on the USS Oklahoma City in Guam. He's been there since May of 2018.
4Maineboys, I am assuming you are from Maine? I have 3 boys, all in the military, but only one in the Navy. He is assigned to the USS Indiana in Groton CT.
I am! We have four boys one in the Navy. He was in Groton for sub school for one year which was nice. So much closer than Guam!
Are you in Maine? How long has he been there?
No at the moment. We live in MA, but plan to retire in Maine. Hubby is from Rumford. We have lived in Rumford, S. Paris, Searsport, New Harbor, Presque Isle and Wayne. (Hubby is a pastor, so we move around a bit!)
Where are you located?
Yes, Groton is much closer than Guam. With our son and his family in Groton, we are only 2 hours away!
We live in Biddeford and we have a camp in Mt. Chase.
My Alex is aboard Chicago, out of Hawaii. He's headed for Groton next month. It's his 2nd enlistment so they gave him shore duty. He says the jokes on him, after 5 years in the tropics, Guam/Hawaii, he's headed for New England in March. He got winter clothes for Christmas.
Currently on USS John Warner
