Submarine moms are special:

--- All of us have boys, "SAILORS!"

 --- Who serve on "boats,"

 --- With whereabouts unknown, and

--- We only get sporadic, short emails while they're out!

Tell us where your sailor serves...

My son just got his first orders and he will be on the USS Mississippi a fast attack submarine from Groton Connetc. Any tips for first time moms and sailors would be appreciated.
I have a long time friend serving on the USS Jimmy Carter.

My husband is sub vol. and Nuke Waste so we are just hanging out in Goose Creek till he gets his orders to go to Groton.
Hang in there Jennifer. My son was in the same boat. Got to Groton early Jan this year and reported to his boat this week. It should move quick once you get there.
My son just got to his sub the Toledo this week.
My son Derek finished his schooling in Dec. and has been out in the Toledo five times already. This is his first long deployment. Scary. He didn't get an international cell phone. Hopefully he'll buy a phone card at his first port. I believe he thought he could call his phone service and add international service. I hope we all hear from our loved ones soon. It's going to be a long deployment. I miss him so much already.
Hi, my son Aaron just went out on his first deployment on the USS Louisiana. I am nervous since he has never even been on a sub before except on the docked sub at Patriot's Point. When can I expect to hear from him and how? He is stationed out of WA. It will be nice to talk to mom's in the same situation. Anyone else have someone out on the Louisiana?
My son is on the USS Nebraska in Banger Wa. only one year of service under his belt as a ET Nav. Can't wait to go see the area. ROAD TRIP!
Shelby, my son is on the same sub! He is on the Gold crew. He just got there in March and has already been out once. I'm planning to go see him later this summer; I love the Seattle area and I'll be glad to escape the heat of the South for a few days!
Lisbeth, I'm so glad someone else has contacted me with a loved one on the same sub. My boy is on the blue crew. So he is opposite your boy. But we still need to plan a trip. I've never been out west. What part of the south are you from?
My "Nuke" and an EM1 aboard the USS Georgia, Blue crew, home based in Kings Bay GA,
My husband just got his orders and after Sub school he will be joining the USS Virgina!
My son just received his orders and will be a Nuk EM on the USS Seawolf. Any other proud parents who have sailors on this sub who can offer any advice?
