Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

Submarine moms are special:

--- All of us have boys, "SAILORS!"

 --- Who serve on "boats,"

 --- With whereabouts unknown, and

--- We only get sporadic, short emails while they're out!

Tell us where your sailor serves...

my son Joe is on the Memphis. He just got assigned in April.2010. I am new to this whole experience and quite honestly i don't like it very much!!! I didn't realized that it would be so hard to maintain communication with them when they go underway. I have no idea what to expect or when...very frustrated....
It's OK joesmom we all know your frustrations. If I can do anything to help let me know. My boy is in Washington State. I'm in Michigan so I don't see him but 2 times a year. Cell phones are wonderful. until they leave on deployment and that's why we are here. So chin up we can do this together.
My son was assigned to the USS Hartford. I think it will be in dry dock for a while. Does anyone have info on this sub?
Kimjef,
I only know two moms with kids on the Hartford: JoLene Morris and Susan (Josh's Mom). These are their user names, so you should be able to find them by typing either into the 'Search' box at the top of the page. If you need additional help, just give me a shout. Welcome! k.
My brother is on the Louisiana-Gold crew! He got to Bangor about a year ago. He loves what he does!... some days. Its definitely harder to remember to write him than it is to write my boyfriend... I try to keep the emails up when he's out though! I loved it out in Washington, and my boyfriend and I are hoping he gets stationed at Bremerton when he gets orders. I'd love to live that close to my older brother! :)
My son, Jake, is on his first deployment on the USS Annapolis. Called from port today, ready to launch at 0600 hrs. He sounds like he's 12 yrs old. Is it just me??
Hello..my sailor..Isaac..is currently assigned to the USS Kentucky although at the moment is fresh out of bootcamp and two A schools...and is currently getting qualified on another sub. He's somewhere out there in the deeps seas. I miss him. I got a couple emails from him already but he hasn't received mine yet, that I know of. I haven't been to this site since he was in bootcamp last year. He loves the Navy and is enjoying his new life. He is stationed in Bangor, WA and just got there this past May. So, he's really new out there. :) BTW...he's my son. I look forward to visiting him there maybe next year. I look forward to his leave time because he's coming to visit us hopefully before the year is up. Drop me a line or two if you'd like. Thank you. Maria.
My son Derek is on the USS Toledo as an ST. He finished his schooling in Dec. and went out for the first time in Jan. Let me know if you have a family member on the Toledo.
My son Brad is on the Toledo. Went to the sub in May.
Sue, there is a new group you can join...USS TOLEDO (SSN769) Hope to see you there, kathy c.
My son, Aaron, is a Nuke, a EM3 aboard the USS Louisiana. He is on his first "tour" is that what you call it, floating under the Pacific ocean somewhere. He will be back in Bangor, WA in August. We are big OSU fans. Go BUCKEYES.
Hello, My son Drew is a sonar tech on the USS Cheyenne. He is just been stationed to HI and loves it.
