Submarine moms are special:

--- All of us have boys, "SAILORS!"

 --- Who serve on "boats,"

 --- With whereabouts unknown, and

--- We only get sporadic, short emails while they're out!

Tell us where your sailor serves...

My son is on the USS Olympia stationed at Pearl.
Hello everyone, just joined this group today. Our Son Timothy is an EM3 "nuke" Electricans Mate onboard the USS Seawolf based in bremerton, WA. We went out to visit him last summer shortly after he joined the boat however we never got to see him as he was underway the entire time we were there. The boat is currently on a deployment so we will be in Washington when they return.

OMG, my son has been at the submarine school in Groton. He is almost finished with school. He was really thinking he could come home early in March. Then he calls me this week to tell me he will NOT get leave and he is going to be in Bangar, WA. He told me that his sub is already deployed and he will have to wait at least 6 mos before he can go out. So why cant he come home for a little while. Also, I think I recall posts about how as parents or spouses we will need to get in touch with a liason to keep us aware of what is going on with our sailors??
The sub he is going to be on is USS Nebraska the Gold crew.

Does anybody have anybody have a word for me??

Sincerely,
Lee
Keith has served on the U.S.S. Columbia for almost 5 years - Fast Attack at Pearl Harbor, HI!

Go Navy!
hi everyone!

i hope everyone had a good day.i haven't heard anything from my daughter, but yet my soon to be ex- son- law sends me email on how much he loves my daughter. This is very awkward.
I have been really tired a lot.

My insulin is being changed as my a1c is 456.

Well.. I am glad this group is here, as I know it is very hard not hear from our sons during the time they are out to sea.

My son is Jason, recently detached from the USS Albuquerque due an injury. He has been on subs for 10 out of his 13 years in the Navy, 3 years shore duty. He has been in King's Bay, San Diego, Washington DC, and currently is in Groton. He is a CS1, and hopes to remain in the navy, if his injury allows(incured while on the boat), but probably not on subs:( He has been on both boomers and fast attacks, and was always proud to serve the silent service.

My son, Cory is a "Nuke" aboard the USS Alaska in Norfolk, Va. He getting ready for 3 mos. My first time at this....
My son Chris is a Nuke. My son Joshua is a Fire Tech on the USS PENN.
my son Joshua is on the USS Pennsylvania out of Bangor, Washington.
Kaye,
My son has been on the boomer Wyoming - blue. Stationed at Kings Bay, Georgia. He's been there for a litttle over 3 years. He'll be out in January, 2010.
You didn't mention the answer - "I can't tell you"
When are you leaving? - "I can't tell you"
When will you be back? - "I can't tell you"
Where are you going? - "I can't tell you"

I have learned to be very patient, not to dwell on him being out to sea, rejoice when he is back on dry land, and pray everyday. They are brave men and I hope they never have to do their jobs.
my son recently transferred to the Alaska...any Alaska families out there
Hi Linda! Is your son still on the Alaska? I have a son on the Alaska-blue Crew. His name is Jeremy, and he is a Chief Petty Officer of the MT.
