Submarine moms are special:

--- All of us have boys, "SAILORS!"

 --- Who serve on "boats,"

 --- With whereabouts unknown, and

--- We only get sporadic, short emails while they're out!

Tell us where your sailor serves...

Hi! My son Josh is on the USS San Francisco out of San Diego. Haven't heard from him since January! I imagine they are very busy now with everything going on in the world, but I sure wish we would hear something! Just for the reassurance. I know he's ok but it's so much better when we hear from them, isn't it?

My son is also on the same sub, I have heard from him and everything is good.  I can't give any more information, but have you contacted the Ombudsman?  Are you on the phone and email list?  That helps a lot, they can supply more information.  Is this your son's first deployment or has he been on deployment before?  They are running silence now but you will probably hear from your son soon.

USS Houston in Guam
My son is on the USS Maryland, Blue Crew, Kingsbay GA.  He will be leaving on his 1st cruise soon.  Anyone else out there with a son on that boat & crew?
My son is machinist mate Casey waiting for the Virginia Class USS Minnesota to be built and commissioned. Currently stationed in Newport News VA
My son was in the exact situation. He's  a nuke on the Virginia Class USS New Hampshire stationed in Groton, CT. When he first arrived to the boat, the only thing that was there was the engine room (and it didn't have anything in it). He had to live, for a while, in temporary housing because the boat technically didn't exist. During the construction he was extremely busy, sometimes putting in over 100 hrs a week. We didn't hear from him very often. The boat was commissioned in 2008.

Hi All, My son Zach just joined the Henry M Jackson Blue in Bangor, WA. Checked in on Thursday - left on Friday!

Any advise or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Is there anyone else who has a sailor on the USS Maryland from Kingsbay, GA?

My son " Drew" , will be stationed  USS Nevada...ET Nuke...sometime this June.  He just completed prototype in SC, and has a lovely wife.  So excited for them and this new chapter!!!

Hi -

My sailor is on the Nevada Blue Crew.

Hi Drewmom and Peg!  My son is an FT on the USS Nevada, Blue Crew in Bangor, Washington.  A Floridian, he was recruited in Alaska when he was visiting his brother, then spent basic training in Chicago and sub school in Groton, Conneticut, before moving to Bangor where he is now.

Hello All- Just visited my son in Groton, CT- got to see the USS Nautilus (inside) and the outside of an aircraft carrier-USS Intrepid. I had a wonderful visit. Subs are so small - I couldn't do it. I give these guys credit!! My son is in charge of weaponry (missiles, small arms etc) The sub base was really nice and I look forward to my next visit!!!
