also is there a group on facebook for the lajolla
There is a lot of useful information on navy.mil. I found this link for boat addresses:
http://www.navy.mil/navydata/ships/lists/ship-fpo.asp
Be sure to put your son's rank and name on the top line and then the information given on this list. I would start with a letter to see if it gets there with no trouble.
His email should be the same one he uses now at home. He will have to find out what his boat address will be by asking someone on the boat.
PA Mom --- Welcome to the La Jolla family!! If your son has already submitted contact information to the ombudsman for the La Jolla, she will send the information you need. In the meanwhile here is her email address: lajollaombudsman@yahoo.com Just introduce yourself to her, give her your son's name and ask any questions you might have. She does a great job, so I'm sure she will answer most of your questions. Also ask her about adding you to the La Jolla FRG Facebook group page. There is usually lots of useful info posted on the FB group page.
Good luck to your son and please let me know if I can help with any questions. My son has been on the La Jolla for two years now and even though I don't know everything.... I've learned a lot and I'll be glad to help with what I know.
