I did not intend to make anyone feel nervous about any information I put in my last posting.  I am very careful with information I put out on any kind of social network.  The information about where my son's sub has been has been released by the Navy on several military pages.  His ombudsman has given us permission to share the pictures and info. I would not put any of our sailors in danger.  I have no pictures of my sailor on my facebook page or even decals on my car.  Again I am sorry if my post made anyone nervous.  If an administrator feels I should not have posted this information please feel free to correct me in thinking it was okay since his ombudsman said it was safe.

Hi to you all.  It has been a while since I posted.  I have been reading your post but have not sat down and written.  My son will be celebrating they half way night this week.  His sub has been in Norway, Gibraltar, ( they had a issue and had to get part flown in for the repair) and a half a day in Greece.  They did not even get to make calls while there, just a quick email.  Pictures have been posted on Navy.mil of the sub in all the ports and is public knowledge so I can write about their ports.  He is on a fast attack also.  We will be going to homecoming and taking all his possessions to him.  It should be nice in VA at the time. They have had two mail drops since they left.  I suppose he has been studying for his advancement test in the next few days.  He was suppose to be able to take the test while deployed. He earned his Dolphins in Dec and has completed the other certifications he needed.  Next would be the test for E5. One time we talk and he is reenlisting and the next he thinks not.  Only time will tell.  Hang in there all and NMH's to you all.  One day closer.

CO Twin, mine is also on a fast attack, been out since October, but coming back to port soon!!! I wish we could go and watch the boat come in but it's just not possible.  Am hoping other Navy moms or wives/girlfriends will take some photos for me!!!

I know that the married guys like the boomers with short deployments. Mine is on a fast attack and has been gone since the first of November.

Cath Bubblehead - thank you for the info - excited for him to take his first underway - he is very enthusiastic about his whole experience so far - so much to learn and do - we are very of him and all the sailors! Thanks again!

Hi Navy Mom - If it is an underway then I do not think they will do 1/2 way boxes. Your sailor most likely will not be able to tell you when they are leaving or returning. He will be very busy earning his "fish" so do not expect many emails from him.

When he gets a chance he will email you - that way you will have his email address. Email him often, even if he doesn't respond! There is maybe 3 computers for 150 sailors - not easy to get access! Do not attempt to email pictures - plain text only.

If you are on the Omsbudsmen's list you might get notified within 24 hours of returning - or not! Boomers do not do homecomings like fast attacks!
