OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Did ya'll know that Applebee's is giving free meals to current and former military personnel on Veteran's Day?! Here's the link: http://www.applebees.com/vetsDay/default.aspx.

And by the way, my trip to Washington was cancelled this past Monday, when I had a severe 'incident' with my female organs (NO cancer) and my doctor said I'm having a hysterectomy. We're grateful that son's command changed and extended his leave, so he's flying home tomorrow for a week.

But, I'm still upset that I'm not meeting many of those I've gotten close to in the past year. Hugs, k.

I mailed off a card for Joshua. I think that the fact that they put off any action is a good sign. It means they are trying very hard to let him recover on his own..rather than rushing him into surgery and ending his chances to stay on his sub. I know that the wait must be so hard on him and he is still in my thoughts and prayers.
