Bea S., The kitchen looks great. I'm still waiting for a few small pieces of moldings. They have to be ordered from the cabinet people. I'm awful at the computer thing but I will definitely bug my husband to put the pictures up on my page. Probably this weekend. The basement is still a scheduling problem. Alex's return date has changed 3 times. The contractor has been understanding but I think he is beginning to think I'm crazy. I've got 2 weeks to come up with a start date. I'm thinking of getting a dart board and putting dates on it. I do have the cabinets for the basement painted so something is started.

Hmmmm. We asked our junior officer about it when we were in HI. He said nothing but I can tell from his expression that whatever he was thinking was not complimentary. I didn't know about the JOs getting crucified.
Lyn Love, how is the remodeling going? Have not seen any photos posted on your page with pics of granite, tile. B

If you are going to read Scott Waddle's book. I would ask you to remember that although he took responsibility for the accident in public, He has (and does in the book) blame the crew for the accident. His career was not as he described it and those people died because an arrogant commander was show boating for VIPs on board. In the end he was retired with a full pension and no punishment while his junior officer's careers were destroyed. OH, and he wrote a book and made a profit from his actions. Sorry if I have angered anyone but his book was (to me) self serving and not what the Navy or his crew deserved.

My son soon will be on his sub. He has FOUR days left before he leaves to Hawaii. He's happy, excited and a little nervise since he's never been so far from home. But we know he going on this great adventure and going to love it. We are happy and a little sad to see him leave but proud of all his done so far. Can't wait to plan our trip to see him sometime next year. I'll keep everyone posted. :)

Paulette, We just moved to north of Pittsburgh and are now in Cranberry. My family live just outside of Detroit. Alex is now an ET-2 on the USS Miami stationed in Groton. He is presently on Deployment and we miss him very much. He's been gone for quite a while. Kings Bay is a beautiful area. A lot of guys end up living in Florida near the beach.

I finally figured out how to get a picture up. This handsome young man is my youngest son. I don't have a picture of him with his E-5 stripes or his fish, but he is my favorite youngest son.
Kimmy, thanks for the banner info.

Tricia, go to my page and find a blog entry on how to email a submarine. It should tell you what you need to know, but feel free to ask questions! Hugs, k.

Hi Lashonda, My son is stationed at Groton. He really likes the area. Right now he's deployed and has been since March. We are looking forward to seeing him sometime this fall. Make sure you don't miss your son's PIR, its an amazing thing witness. A day you will never forget.
