Proud Mom, my SIL's emails come from his Navy email.  I believe that they get half way boxes but not sure about other packages.  It seems to me that packages are scheduled before the deployment.  Maybe a mom with more experience will jump in here.

Daughter got a surprise ph call from Nuke sailor tonight
They are In ....

Something broke on the sub that has to be fixed
They won the corn dog eating contest & there day off reward was the sub surfacing some where in the Bahamas
So they could see sunlight & get to swim
He was not chosen to go stay in a hotel tonight
Bummer
He hopes to catch up on eating this week
That was his only complaint
I’m starving!
They are fed 2 times a day
Good food but not enough he said
The only other mistake he made was he had decided to take a shower when they got underway
He fell in the shower because the sub was diving!
he said he won’t make that mistake again

NEW SAILOR TO THE GROTON, CT AREA. Anyone still have family or live in the area?

Comment by Havasu on February 14, 2020 at 3:30pm

bean - Thank you!!

SallyCG - Thank you! That is so exciting to have graduation so close! The graduation at that time of year will be so nice too. It has been great to know where he's going. It's so funny how some classes find out pre-graduation and others after. We overheard so many parents talking with their sailors and asking if they knew when/where they were going and every sailor replied like ours... "Nope!" LOL!

Havasua I am so excited for him! Congrats. Mine will hopefully graduate prototype on Memorial Day weekend.... then who knows where. I bet it’s a relief for you to know a place and a ship/sub. Best of luck!!

How exciting Havasu!  Wish the best for him!  :-)

Hello, all! I thought I'd do a quick intro... My sailor graduated from Prototype in the Nuke program on the 31st of January and just received his orders for Guam and the USS Key West. I'm excited for him to get out into the fleet! He reports sometime in the last half of March.
