lynnvikings- I can always tell when they go out.  My son and I  snapchat.  When he doesn't open them I know they are out.  They must have come to level...he opened the ones I sent... have to still send an email to him...

I'm right there with you LindaGirl.  It's not like we can just hop in the car and drive to Hawaii!!

MADHOBY...definitely make the drive. I would give anything to be closer to my son in Hawaii, so I envy that you are in driving distance, no matter how long the drive. Have a wonderful time. I will be thinking of you & wishing you a safe journey.

Good Morning everyone,

We are thinking of making the 17 hour drive to Kings Bay to see our son the third and 4th of July.  Does anyone know of a decent place to stay in that area?

Hello everyone, I've been away from here for a while. Hope all is well with  all the Navy Families here. Hope everyone is having a great summer!

Enjoyed our visit with our sailor. His first deployment went well. Didn't get the fish but said he hopes to have before the next underway. Very close just a few signatures and boards. We are so proud of him. It was wonderful to spend Father's Day with my husband and our two sons together. Looking forward to him coming home on leave in a few weeks.

Linda - I finally spoke to my son, although he left the boat before the regular crew! Sounds like his first deployment went well - he spoke very well of the regular crew! It is a bit anti-climatic with no home coming! I mailed the banner I had made for him. They can hang it in their apt!

William - hang in their - at least you know they are not going out at night partying!
