Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by Duchess2006 on April 23, 2018 at 10:42am: Wendy250, I'm right outside Philly. Was told by a co-worker flights are cheaper if you fly to San Diego, buy sep tix from SD to HI instead of from Philly to HI.

He won't even get there until fall, so 2019 would when I would think of going.

Also, of any Sub/Navy Mom groups in Groton, Conn? Having 2 sailors in different parts of the east coast, it would be nice to belong to groups that pertain to each area.

He is now in department head school in Groton for a few more months. At the moment his orders are for Virginia. His family will be staying in CT, as the sub will be transferring in about a year to Groton. It is nice to have the family closer than in Memphis. We are in MA so we are only about 2 hours away!

After he gets settled, he said, he would look you both up, but I know he will be very busy for the first several months finding a place to live, getting a new car, adjusting to a new job, etc. etc. You know the drill! Thank you for your hospitality though and I am happy knowing he will have someplace to go that will give him the feeling of being home and welcomed.
