While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Even though my son is stationed in Hawaii, I am grateful that you and your husband are there for the sailors that want to take advantage of your hospitality, encouragement, & support in the Virginia area.

I know he is a grown man, but sometimes I still see him as that skinny little boy :) My son isn't a big communicater, but I do text him daily..good morning, love you, praying for you. The other day I texted that I was proud of him. I will have to remember to do that more often! Where is your ministry? I would love for him to plug in somewhere, but concerned he will not find time with his studies.

I realize it's hard to have your sons and daughters away from home in the Navy, especially when they are on a submarine (or ship) and you may not hear from them much. However, after reading some of your posts, I would like to encourage you to pray for them as the first and most important thing you can do for them and for the submarine they are in. I know it's hard to let go. :) What they need to hear from you is that you are proud of them as men and women serving their country.

Because of the ministry my husband and I have to the sailors- inviting them into our home, sharing the love of Jesus with them and being there to have a listening ear to any problems that may arise from being in the Navy or seeing that they are now adults and wanting their family to look at them as such. So, the more support you give them the more they feel like the adults they are. And as you well know that part of being an adult is experiencing life...which can be great or sometimes hard. So they need you support and encouragement .

We try our best when they show bad attitudes because of the work they are expected to do, that being in the Navy, means starting from the bottom up and they need to do the best job they can and then it will be noticed and they will go up the ladder.

I hope this didn't come across like a lecture, I am only trying to encourage you as moms. :)

So, just so you know we do pray for you moms-and dads- too!:)
