Calls for Recruits / Letters from Home Project is the name. I am on my phone right now and cannot get the address- I will try to do so later tonight!

Cath Bubbleheads, any chance you could get a hold of that Facebook page for me. I would love to write letters of encouragement to other sailors who have no one to write to, or are struggling. Thank you for your prayers...it's going to be so tough, I know it will just take time, but as you know, it's not easy.

I feel you lindagirl. I get it. I have been in a funk as well with my boy out of pocket like that as well.

Lindagirl - I feel your pain and will pray for you. When I start feeling like that I have found that helping others stops the depression. Sometimes its a random act of kindness for someone, or getting involved with a cause.

Last January I helped to pack and ship care packages for Mollys Adopt a ship. Even though I knew my sailor would not benefit from this, I felt better knowing I would be helping another sailor.

I know there is a fb group where you can send letters of encouragement to recruits who are struggling or have no one to write to them.

Navy moms, I don't even know how to begin this pray request, as I feel guilty even asking because there are so many bigger problems out there, but if anyone would understand,it would be you ladies. We have been blessed to have my son home with us for the past 2 weeks & it has been an absolute dream. Tomorrow, unfortunately, he heads back to Hawaii, & a few months after that, a long deployment, taking him into next year. My heart is breaking. It will be so hard to say "Good-bye" tomorrow. Knowing me, I will be going into a month long depression after he is gone, thinking about a week ago, 2 weeks ago, 3 weeks ago, etc. please keep me in your prayers, that I can get through this 1st month of him being gone, without too much difficulty. Keep my son in your prayers as well for a safe return to Hawaii & a safe deployment. I couldn't sleep at all last night. I hate myself for being this way. Thank you for your prayers.

This is tougher than I expected. I don't like not being able to at least text my son even if I don't get to talk to him. At boot camp I was at least able to write letters so it wasn't as bad. I am still waiting on him to email as he said he would do it first. It just surprises me that it is tougher than I expected it to be as I have always raised him to be independent and to do his thing. All I cn say is man I have a new appreciation for the wives and kids of the military.

William, I read the same thing.  I very rarely wrote LOL because usually I didn't.  Laugh out loud that is.  Usually I smile at funny stuff so I do a smiley face, a la :-)  or winky smile ;-)

No ha-ha's from here.   :-)

Our son will be home tomorrow on a two week leave. Excited to have him back in the house. Looking forward to hearing him sing in the shower. Friends in the house. Another plate at the dinner table.
Will try to savor each moment knowing he will not be home for the holidays this year. What a journey being a navy mom
Big navy hug to all

Hello everyone I got an email from my son yesterday around 3:30 am haha.  He is doing fine.  Boat was out for 2 months came back a couple days and went right back  out again and could be for quite a while it has already been several weeks.  So he is a busy lad these days.  I have to say haha from now on because I read an article that using Lol online is completely out of fashion now  haha.  You know they are busy when the email is just one paragraph and it ends with I have to go to work now.
