Linda, you are so sweet. I love that you told them to call their moms and the one said he saw her at Christmas--I don't care if it was the day before, call your mom before you leave and when you come back. I understand the ones that are married but the single guys--your mom (or dad) is your person.

Kaye, what a beautiful thing to do, I can just picture the smile on their faces!  Thank you

Linda,

I hug sailors wherever I see them... airports, restaurants, etc.!  I say, "I'm a Navy Mom, so I'd like to give you a hug - because I can't hug my own sailor and because your mom isn't here to do it."  Only once have I been asked for a handshake instead.  And they ALL gave me big smiles!

Had the opportunity to meet some of his friends before we got back on the road. They told me that they were leaving for patrol next week. Without asking I hugged them both and told them that's for your moms. They probably think I am crazy I couldn't help myself. celebrating Brody's grandfathers 90th birthday this weekend. So happy he can be here with us for this special day.

Linda I am happy for you.  Enjoy your weekend together. We are making plans to visit our son in Hawaii "soon" and keeping our fingers crossed that the timing of our plan fits the Navy's plans.   Lol.

Linda, enjoy your long weekend with your son.

Lucky You!  Before my son left for Hawaii, he was stationed at Groton, Conn. for the year of schooling.  We were so lucky also since we lived on Long Island, he was only a ferry boat ride away, so he would come home most weekends.  I know we were spoiled for that year, having him so close. Its so hard now, having him so far away, even though he's been in Hawaii for over a year now, I still can't get used to him being so far away.  I know you are enjoying it, while you can, give him extra hugs & hold him tight when you can.

So happy for you Linda!!!  Enjoy the time with him, especially the quiet talking time in the car.  I'm envious!!!  :)

Happy. Going to pick up my sailor for a four day weekend visit. So happy he is stationed only 3 hours away. Three hours in the car on the way home I get a captive audience. Great opportunity to catch up and have a really good talk. Once he is home he is off to see friends It's ok just nice to have him in the house.
