Cath Bubblehead, your son will like being a sonar tech.  Mine can't believe the meaning behind the different sounds and how he just knows what is what out there in the deep blue water.

baby dukie's mama, yes, it is amazing how they grow up and are so more independent. Of course, being the mom I still ask certain questions-- are you eating, getting rest, etc.lol.

Jeanette, I though that was what a CS was.  Nice to see another job in the Navy.  It seems like everyone is an MT or Nuke.  My son is Sonar and I don't see to many of those.

Hey Ladies, just to let you know, if you can't find what you like or want when looking to purchase a military t-shirt on the "tee-spring" create your own t-shirt website, another site is CafePress.com. They have literally, thousands of military t-shirts to chose from, including infants, toddlers, & children's ( as well as other items) at very reasonable prices that include every military branch you can think of. Just put in a search of what you want & it will come up. Ex: Navy mom t-shirts, Marine child t-shirts, etc. Happy t-shirt hunting! You literally can spent hours looking through the selections, & then when you pick something, they will have anywhere from 9 to 27 variations of the shirt you pick, including color & style. They also have other military related items, including stickers, mugs, etc. They do not just do military only, but other careers as well.

Tina 2 months is such a long time. Very happy for you to finally talk again :-D

mrsb you never fail to make me laugh out loud. I love reading your comments/opinions to my hubby he's always entertained!

Guess what? Our son's boat is back and he called today while I was out and my husband was at work! Sent him a text to please call again but haven't heard anything :-(

Oh Tina that is great. Our sailors do work hard hu? it is good to get a phone call or text but skyping is better.

Kevsmom, you are so sweet to think of me and ProudNavyMom after your encounter with the witch at the airport.  I probably would have ripped her head off, but that's just me!!! And you know how I am!  LOL  Some, most, people just don't understand the life of a military family.  They don't understand that when you say goodbye you may not know when you will see your son/husband/bf again.  Communication is very little.  I just want to slap people sometimes!

COTwin, I can't get the visual out of my head about your son turning and you weren't there.  So sorry for that, must have been so difficult.  Glad that you stood up the second time as well.  We all stick together and are such proud Navy moms!!!

Tina41, I'm so glad you were able to skype with your son. I know when we are on skype with our son, after we've talked for awhile, I try to think of things to say & bring up just because I don't want the session to end! I look at him through the screen & try to pretend that we are in the same room together.
Comment by LindaGirl on August 23, 2014 at 11:30pm
Kevsmom93, I would do the same thing & stay until I could not see the plane any more. My husband would have to drag me away if he tried to get me to go any sooner.
