I just found this and thought it was cute...

My sailor.Submariner

I love My Sailor so deeply and true

He is my Husband, my Friend and a Daddy too

He chose his fate when signed that line

To become a Submariner and serve his time

As the Submarine is prepped and the workday ends

He comes home to tell me, "It is that time again"

The night before "The Boat" gets underway

We prepare ourselves for that dreaded day

He Packs his sea bag so snug and tight

For it will be time to leave at dawn's early light

With his sea bag across his shoulder

and the tears in his eyes we know it is time for all the goodbyes

My Sailor and his crew are running silent and deep

Protecting our freedom while awake or asleep

For the beautiful flag flies freely in the wind

My sailor will proudly salute it until the very end

Sam- congrats thats so exciting!

katofmt- i know what u mean its been 4 months since ive seen my fiance and i wont see him probably for another 2 months :( i get sad. but i try to take it day by day. my sailor hasnt gone under yet, so i cant give you advise there. but i just try to keep myself busy throughout the day and that seems to make things easier. because im spending less time thinking about us being apart.

this sounds a little childish but it helped me.. u know those long chains kids make out of paper. they make them into circles and keep adding to them? well when he was in bootcamp i made one for all the days i wouldnt see him.. everyday when i came home i would take one off. it kept getting shorter and shorter which made me more excited that the days were getting closer to when i was going to see him. until finally there was only one left!... and if you have kids you can do it together.. they can get into it too, and it should be a lot of fun for them....idk if that helps at all..

It's been three months since I last saw my sailor and I thought I was doing well with the time and distance. Yesterday he called and couldn't stop talking about how much he missed me and wanted to be with me. I've been a wreck ever since; and it's another 5 weeks until I fly to see him. What can I do to help cope? When he's gone on a sub, we'll have even less chance to communicate. Does the time away get easier? :(

Congrats Sam! That's awesome, I know having 'Daddy' there is the best :) Enjoy being a mom... and take lots of pictures! My little one is almost three, what I'd give to cuddle a little baby again.

We're getting married Veterans' weekend in November... it's a federal holiday so he won't have work and we'll get an extra day together :) I didn't mean to be a downer, just sharing my experience... my advice is be patient and flexible when you can. My new motto is "10 years from now it won't matter that ...[the wedding moved, or that I spent money I couldn't get back]. 10 years from now we'll be happily married and loving life!"

yup gotta love the military everything is not set in stone till you have it in writing and still that can change .. i am sooooo sorry to hear about your wedding katofmt :(..

i would just have your hubs tell his command over and over when he wants to do the wedding and they can give him advice and help him in the process.
