I just found this and thought it was cute...

My sailor.Submariner

I love My Sailor so deeply and true

He is my Husband, my Friend and a Daddy too

He chose his fate when signed that line

To become a Submariner and serve his time

As the Submarine is prepped and the workday ends

He comes home to tell me, "It is that time again"

The night before "The Boat" gets underway

We prepare ourselves for that dreaded day

He Packs his sea bag so snug and tight

For it will be time to leave at dawn's early light

With his sea bag across his shoulder

and the tears in his eyes we know it is time for all the goodbyes

My Sailor and his crew are running silent and deep

Protecting our freedom while awake or asleep

For the beautiful flag flies freely in the wind

My sailor will proudly salute it until the very end

Our situation is a little different hubby was on fast SSN for 5 years and then star reenlisted so he choose to go to SSBN school. Now he is not sure if he wants to continue on the SSBN path or go back to a SSN So we are taking a break from subs to go to Guam he will be on a tender for the next 3 years.

My hubby is in A school now for FT - SECF so we are to the point of figuring out what he wants to list as his top 3 as well. We are so lost and have no idea what to put at this point..
Any other wives up here in Groton?

Whoever told you that is confused.

We are in Ga right now. It is not AWFUL but not great either. There is not a lot around here to do unless you want to drive to Jacksonville or Savannah. I think Ga would be a great place if you are ready to settle down and buy a hose. We are not ready for that at all, so we are BORED...lol The weather is great here though and if we had a babysitter we could trust we would probably do a lot more. I have never lived in WA but I hear the weather sucks but there are lots of things to do there. We are moving to Guam for the next 3 years and if they make us go back to SSBN's we will try for WA since we have already been here to Ga.

ya.. thats what im scared of..like we cant even set a date cuz we dont know when hes getting deployed
Comment by luvinmatt on July 8, 2010 at 8:54pm
Dolphins or not leave is dependent upon the ships schedule. If he is in drydock that would be the best time to get leave. Once they get out of drydock I can guarantee they will start doing workup for deployments. It will be SUPER HARD to get leave during deployment workups.
