I just found this and thought it was cute...

My sailor.Submariner

I love My Sailor so deeply and true

He is my Husband, my Friend and a Daddy too

He chose his fate when signed that line

To become a Submariner and serve his time

As the Submarine is prepped and the workday ends

He comes home to tell me, "It is that time again"

The night before "The Boat" gets underway

We prepare ourselves for that dreaded day

He Packs his sea bag so snug and tight

For it will be time to leave at dawn's early light

With his sea bag across his shoulder

and the tears in his eyes we know it is time for all the goodbyes

My Sailor and his crew are running silent and deep

Protecting our freedom while awake or asleep

For the beautiful flag flies freely in the wind

My sailor will proudly salute it until the very end

If he gets orders to GA before you are married  the Navy will not pay for anything. You can move with him but at your own expense. For the Navy to pay you would have to wait till he finishes school. Now if you get married before his orders are written to Ga you will be able to move with him on the Navy's dime as long as the school is long enough.  DH school was long enough to move us. He was 10 months. As long as you are married you can live in base housing anywhere. Leases start at 6 months usually.

hey ladies!

I'm sure this question has been asked 1,000 times, but I'm a little unclear on how this all works. My fiancee and I are getting married next month while he is finishing up sub school in Groton. After he's done in Groton he'll be heading to Georgia to finish up A school. Is it possible for me to live either on or off base with him while he is in school? Or do we have to wait until he finishes school?

Any help is so much appreciated! :)

DH is in BESS in Groton, CT and just got his orders for our daughter and I to move up there.  We will be there on July 7 and getting our house on July 8.  Is anybody living in Nautilus Park 2?
