I will wait to call until I hear. I would say about 12 to 14 dollars per person, but the ambiance is wonderful.
I vote for St. Pete too, but I don't mind going to Tampa either. Does anyone have a time in mind? It doesn't matter to me.
It is a week from today we are suppose to get together. I have been to the Columbia before in Tampa but not the Vinoy in St. Pete. If lunch is reasonable I am game. Maybe we need to know which is closer to most Tampa or St. Pete?
Me St. Pete. But I can go to either if more are closer to Tampa.
Another question do they maybe have a room we could sit in by our selves? Just a thought..... Last time I went to lunch with some Navy Moms was 2 or more years ago.
Hi Guys! Either the Columbia, and I can scan maps of these places, or the Vinoy which by the way has a great lunch and not real expensive. They offer free garage parking and you will feel like a queen, or anywhere else - let me know. I am hearing January 19 from someone - is that a good day - It is Sunday. This might be a problem for some, don't know but I have my NAVY tee shirt and I am ready to go. If we need reservations, everyone that wants to attend can call me at my work # 813-716-1032 Linda
milacroix - Hi! This weather has been awful and it is finally clearing up a little - just a little late for the poor sailors - sorry to hear about your son's delay - so he is in Great Lakes at boot camp? I remember how crazy it made me not to hear from my son but having been in that place, I want you to know that he will be OK and worrying is what us Moms do the best. All I can say is that it gets better and easier with time. Had he been away from home before he joined? He is safe,
I feel that the NAVY takes good care of our sons and daughters. I will say a prayer for your son and another one for all our military people. Stay Strong! Remember, you always have all of us crazy moms to help you out if you start to panic, or just need a Navy Friend to talk to. We are ALL there for you !
He will make many new friends, he will not be alone. They stand as a team, together.
My son was suppose to leave on the 7th but with weather did not till the 8th . he must of texted his girlfriend and me to much cause his phone died before his final call home and only called girlfriend and said he for are numbers and didn't have wallet where the phone list was. She texted me and gave me the message what a shame I want to hear him and make sure he was safe for myself.
Can't wait for the box and phone call in three weeks if not sooner. I know he left with two other guys, I'm glad so he knows someone.
Now that the holidays are over, I just want to check in with everyone to see if y'all are still planning on meeting. Maybe we can set a time and decide on a spot. I believe the last meeting places agreed upon were the Vinoy or Columbia in Tampa. I live a little closer to the Vinoy but am fine with whatever works for everyone else. Let's make this happen!
I am game for any of these places on the 19th of January. I live close to all the places. Sounds like we will have a good group of moms going! Everyone should wear a Navy shirt. If you are friends with other moms on Face Book who live in the area invite them also....
@MarlaCPA - I heard back from Sherrill so far and Jan 19th at either the Vinoy or the Columbia is working for us, how about you? The Vinoy is in St. Pete, the Columbia is in Tampa? What do you think? There is also Kelly's Chick A Boom Room in my town of Dunedin? What ya think? Want us to get closer to the
Sunshine Skyway?
MarlaCPA - as soon as everyone decides on a time an place, I will be sure to let you know - We know it is in January and I thru the 19th out there, what do you think about that. Maybe we should meet in Tampa - that is a nice big city. or we can go to the Vinoy in St Petersburg for lunch - I went there a week ago and they really put on a great lunch, not the cheapest in town but the nicest lately. We can go to the Columbia Restaurant - help me here!!
