Hi Linda...I work in Dunedin currently and would love to meet you also. I sent you a friend request. So your son just graduated from Boot Camp in July? My son went in Dec 2011 and is in Jacksonville currently. I am originally from Boston. Luckily I get to see my son more often than most people because he is 4 hours away.
Hi eljac913 - My name is Linda and I live in Dunedin - not far from Palm Harbor.
I too have items for donating and I have a pick up truck and would love to meet you. Have you met Dana yet. I went to one of Molly's Adopt a Sailor get togethers and these are some real nice hardworking people that are sending the sailors that are out there in the middle of no where cool things that they can use.
If you want to friend me - I am not too good at this one - then I can talk to you privately and maybe we can get together. My son is in sub school in Groton, Ct.
I now hear from him that he may be going into Navigation but his school is going to be about 9 more months - He will be coming home for Christmas - this will be the first I have seen him since his PIR 7/12/13. He likes Groton. He says he needs his car so he can move around and see the sights (NY and Boston) and his biggest wish is to have a kitchen in his room. His microwave is broken and he has to eat their food. He is kind of picky and drinks alot of protien shakes and vegetables to maintain his body weight and he can't get comfortable yet with his food. He used to be 260 in high school and now he is 160 lbs. He doesn't eat alot of red meat - no pork, no pizza -- la de da.. I have problems with feeding him when he comes home to visit me but you have to admire his strong will in this regard. I am overweight and it is not as easy as it looks to lose it.
Hi everyone, I would love to attend an event for supporting the troops. I live in Palm Harbor and would love to meet other families with a loved one serving. I have already started to collect items for donating.
I had such a wonderful time in Hawaii visiting my son.... Wish I could have stayed in paradise with him :) Hawaii is beautiful so glad I got the chance to visit. Thanks to my great son being in the Navy!
Hi Karen. We're sorry too. I'll continue to post anytime there's an event. Seems like I'm getting a lot of calls lately to support the troops. Yippee!!!! Keep an eye on Molly's Adopt a Sailor here on Navy for Moms and also Facebook if you are on it. Thanks and hope to see you soon.
It's a community gathering where people donate care package items, raffles go on, there's going to be music at this one and Molly's will be set up under a canopy. Look for the Molly's Adopt a Sailor tent and you'll find me there. If you bring care package items, you receive a ticket for the chance drawings. You may ABSOLUTELY bring your family and friends. It'll be a good time. The real work is after when we pack up the APO/FPO boxes and ship to our adoptees. We're shipping to the USS Stockdale. Here's the link: http://www.navyformoms.com/group/mollysadoptasailorproject then join the group. Once you join the group, you can get to the monthly adoptions. Here's this month: http://www.navyformoms.com/group/mollysadoptasailorproject/forum/to...
It will be great to meet you!
Wow - that was fast- I am not sure what we are talking about here but I will try to be there to see this. I will be with my husband if that is OK? Thanks for the invite, I hope I will see you there.
