OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Thanks judyann. I know I will get through it. I try to stay busy with work and our other children. He is the first to leave home and the real hardest part is that I can't talk to him whenever I want to. I write him daily about the funny things that are going on at home, so when I get his address I can send out a letter the same day.

My son left 2 days ago for Great Lakes. I seem to get more and more anxious as the hours go by. I can wait to get "the box" and the letter. We live right outside of Nashville.

Yeah for all the Sailors comming home :)

Happy Friday.

Sherie just pick a restaraunt and day post it and see what happens. This will be our first time, I'll let you know how it goes. I'm also going to let our recruiters know about it so they can pass along the work, and the Navy will send you a free packet with name tags.
