i know what you mean by missing your baby Kyle is still in Haiti, but it is so different from him being in va, when he is in va I dont miss him as much, i guess cause I know I can pick up the phone and call him anytime, but while in haitis we have wait on hime to call and that has been 2 times since jan 17. I am ready for him to be back in va. he tells us when he gets back to va will be leaving for korea for 6 months or so and that means he want be home at christmas and this will be the x-mas that we have being together. Rebecca I hope things get better for you soon. it is something a the navy that makes them grow up. i had to take care of some business for kyle, and i dont ever recall him being so thankful for the things i do for him.

Thank you for the warm welcome! I do feel like I have a new family and I look forward to learning more about each of you and working our way through this together. I think I figured out the PIR and it looks like he graduates on
April 9th, although I have not yet received the formal letter. Thanks for everything, Moms!

Betsy welcome to the group. we all were in your shoes at one time, these ladies will support you all they can, it is like one big family and as times goes on there will people who you never have known, but will get to meet due to your sailor meeting new people where ever he is stationed. our sailor is an air crewman and he has been in the nave for 2 1/2 yrs. he is stationed in norfolk va, but has met a wonderful family in north carolina that has taken our son as part of the family, when we go to va to see our son, we also spend time with this amazing family. our son is deployed right now and this family calls and checks on our son like he is theirs. god is so good, we just have to have faith. you can email me anytime you need to talk, imay not beable to answers all the questions that you have.

I am a new Navy mom. We live in Oak Ridge and my son left for boot camp one week ago. I have been studying this website and trying to learn the lingo and "ins and outs" of military life. The transition is very difficult for me, due to not knowing anyone in the Navy and never being exposed to the life. It is funny how your attitudes and opinions change once you have someone you love, willing to go and sacrifice for our country. It makes it harder to watch the news; everything seems so much more personal. I am proud of my son, and I hope to become a part of this community.
