It official, my sailor arrived in Sasebo. Japan yesterday.   I'm missing him right now but I have to get in gear because school starts on the 27th and I my classroom is not ready,  That should help with the blues.  I have Purple Heart coming today for his donated clothes and shoes he left behind to give away.  His room is the cleanest I have ever seen in the 15 years he lived at home, it only took me two days.  I took photo's of a clean room to send to him one day.  Not now, because I don't want to make him sad or feeling homesick either.

Any other Texas Moms with sailors in Japan?  I would love to hear from you.

Hi- Just getting through BC and then off to A school along with sub school.  Just curious where you live.  If you don't mind sharing.  Also curious about your PIR experience.

Ang

I'm in Sugar Land, south west Houston.

PIR was in April, 2012 and he stayed in Great Lakes for A School.  We saw him briefly after PIR because he had to move and check in to A School in a different part of Great Lakes.  We finally got to get together that afternoon (Friday) around 4:00 until 9:30 PM.  He had to be back by 10:30.  We enjoyed all day Saturday and most of the day Sunday because we were flying out Sunday afternoon.  Private message me and I can tell you where we stayed, etc.?

My son will be going to Yokosuka, though I don't know when, yet.

my son is in Sasebo Japan now. I have been able to talk with him weekly until his ship leave port.  He got a Japanese cell phone with unlimited calling to the US so he does call, but the time difference (14 Hours ahead) can be tricky.  Generally he calls when I am leaving for work during the week.  I don't know much about Yokosuka but he does navy mates who are there right now.  He Facebook with them occasionally.

I just found out from my son's FB page that he left today for Japan, via his girlfriend in OKC.  :-)  He really does love me, I swear!  I did get the opportunity to visit him this past summer while he was in South Carolina.  So I'm glad I made the trip.  May be a while before we see him again.

Hey if any one is interested I have a Texas Military moms group on F/B & a Japan Navy Moms Group on F/B
