Sheri, let's see..... hhhmmmm - we are celebrating "a very special graduation", my son is home from deployment, a mom has never met another Texas mom, your son joining, it is summer, July 4th . . . .how about WE CAN!!!! Hope to see you there!!
Hi Texas moms. We live in Webster which is halfway between Houston and Galveston. My son left on June 6 for boot camp so I feel very new to all of this. What are you celebrating in Kemah on Monday. That's right down the road from me.
We are going to meet in Kema (near Houston), this Monday at noon at the Aquarium to celebrate!! If you want to join us, come on! Please just let me know, so we will have an idea of how many!
MY son is going to Sasabo Japan. He will be on the USS Germantown. Any moms familiar with overseas duty. He graduates from A-School this week. I'm really nervous because this was #2 on his dream sheet. I'm trying to find out about coming home before he leaves overseas. Help!!!!!!
JordanMom, I am so glad I mentioned that! After 7 years in the Navy Kyle was feeling so "old" ---at 30! He was waiting for his flight back to San Diego when he saw them walk by.
We still feel that sense of pride when people tell him thanks for serving!
Cece...one of those heading to basic was my son! I watched him swear in and was so proud. Hubby had tears in his eyes. Jordan was sworn in 20 years to the day my husband was. Hubby says he is proud, but a little jealous! LOL
We just left our son at DFW to go back to base. He has been home on leave this past week. It's always sad to see him go even after 7 years!
He texted from the airport that he saw a group of new recruits walk by with their yellow envelopes and knew they were on their way to basic! He said they look like little kids! :) I am praying for them!
Pearl Harbor, looks like bunches of us are there with you in spirit! My mom never knew my children. She passed away at the young age of 46 from rheumatoid arthritis almost 30 years ago. I still miss her and the things she missed out on in my boy's lives. My sailor is a red head like my brother - she would have adored him!
except my brother is about 5'2" and my son is about 6'.
Pearl Harbor, I do know how you feel! My mom passed 18 mo. ago right around Christmas and our son just happened to be on leave! (God works in mysterious ways) He has only been home for Christmas twice during his 7 years in the Navy. It was such a comfort! We will keep you in our prayers.
