UGH! So tired of people making jokes about how he's "really serving hard" when I say my son is stationed at Pearl Harbor!

Well after 13 months in GL our sailor is finally headed to C School in Dahlgren, VA. He is pretty excited.  Now he'll be in Dahlgren for about a year in C school.  He's actually beginning to wonder if the Navy really has a fleet or if all they have are schools. lol.  So proud of him.  Planning our trip to see him since he will be on hold until 16 Aug.

Mine has been deployed since January.  He is too cheap to buy a phone that works overseas.  I only have sporadic emails or Skype - and he won't Skype with speakers or the camera because he usually is in a public place.  SO . . .  what I am saying  - the lack of hearing their voice - could possibly get worse than boot camp!!!

Even after 7 years, one of the things I remember most was being able to communicate with the cell again!

Congratulations!

He's officially a sailor!  I got home from PIR yesterday and it was WONDERFUL to see him after 3+ months!  Our time together was brief...but worth every penny!  He had duty Friday evening so he had to be back on base by 5:00 p.m. and then they had to be at the gate to catch the bus to the airport by 12:30 a.m.  We met him at the airport and waited with him until he boarded the plane.  Since we couldn't find him in his division at PIR, we didn't actually SEE him until liberty was called at 10:30 a.m. on Friday morning...he boarded his plane for South Carolina at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.  Like I said...it was brief.  I think I'm as happy as he is that he has his phone again!  :o)

sorry Ricky's mom - sarcasm is one of my personality traits.

Can you give us more information as to what it deals with?
