Ricky's mom, the only moms that shouldn't say anything about their sons - are the pre-BUD's. If your son is going for SEAL - you shouldn't even have your picture on here! Other than that, it is ok to say what you son will be doing!
Glad you got your letter!! Is he still in boot camp?
I finally got a letter from my son........He's having a great time. He loves his job it fits him perfectly. Not sure if I am allowed to say what it is here.....
Brenda72- they can travel on their military orders to get to and from where they are stationed, but if they want to travel on leave and visit other countries they will need their passport.
JenG I sent you a friend invite. My son is in GC! He will be graduating on May 25th from Power School (well, we still have a couple of weeks, ugh). If you think that BC is stressful, Nuke School is nail biter, loose weight kinda-stress! Good luck!
Good Rainy Wednesday Afternoon Ladies, Well our sailor finally got orders for "C" School he'll be leaving GL on the 23rd and traveling to Dalhgren, VA. He'll be on hold until 16 August when he classes up. Starting to plan our trip there to see him, I'm glad I didn't buy tickets to GL as we had been planning. He's pretty excited to be finally leaving GL after 13 months.
Hope everyone is enjoying these TX thunderstorms. We've had 2+ inches of rain since about 1830 yesterday, and it's still a light rain now.
Take Care and have a great rest of the week.
Our son is still in BC...and will HOPEFULLY graduate 5/18. He will then fly out to South Carolina where he will be going to NUKE school for about 18 months or so. He signed on for 6 years. He's considered an old recruit...at 22. Ha!
Hello JenG, angelasal, and Sancy! I am from Lockhart. My grandson is a DEP and ships out for BC on July 25th. We are trying to make the most of the time we have left together. Between my meltdowns and his girlfriend who is an emotional basket case it has been a roller coaster so far! Are your sailors active duty or reserve? Mine will be reservist in Austin after he finishes C school. I keep telling myself that by this time next year everything will have settled down - at least that is my hope!
Hi! We live in South Austin. My son left for BC on 2/7 but got injured and spent several weeks in RCU. He is back in a new division w/a PIR date of 5/18. I'm a bit anxious, worrying that the rug may be yanked out from under him again...that or another stress fracture! Ha! Saying lots of prayers and trying to stay positive!
