FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hi, I'm from Kyle, TX. Im new to this, hoping to get ANY helpful info! My daughter left for bootcamp on April 3rd. Ship 09 Div 166. PIR on 6/1. Can't wait.. I'm so excited!

My son has been in BC for 6 days now. I miss him so much already. His 20th birthday was friday. His first Birthday I missed. I hope his doing well. I can't wait to hear from. The tears come and go.

Got a questions for you ladies....my son is now at his duty station in Hawaii...he asked me today for his birth certificate...I asked what for...he told me for a passport for deployment......hmmmm? as far as I know they don't need it...am I correct?

Hi Rickysmom, my son left on the 24th and I got my letter today with address and PIR.

Hopefully you have gotten yours by now. My son is Ship 07 Div 192 with PIR on 06/22/12. It made me feel so much better just to finally have some info.

@ kathy. Awwww.... I am sure I will be where you are in a year too. It is impossible to cut those strings. Both of you will be fine. Italy sounds amazing. Thank goodness for skype!! Hang in there. I completely understand. You raised a fine daughter. I am sure she will hold on to her ship mates during her stay.

My daughter just graduated BC last week. Loved spending weekend with her. I live in Katy area borderline Cypress. She is on medical hold for an ENT dr appt tomorrow. Asking for prayers so she can leave asap to A school in Pensacola. Power in prayer. Thanks!!!
