We do it big in Texas... so BIGGGGGGGGGGGG TEXAS HUGS TO ALL!
He went to his A school in Pensacola and now he is at his C school I guess is what it is.......hopefully he listens to mom and goes and makes some friends and goes and talks to somebody and he will feel better about the whole thing...poor kid had never been away from home really not like this anyway.
Mine is in Hawaii also. He made friends and seems to like it but doesn't like that he will be there the whole time, he wanted to see more. I know he freaked out a little the morning he was leaving for boot camp , he woke up alone in the hotel and wondered what in the world he had done!! Now that it is behind him he laughs about it. He was lucky enough that some of the guys from boot camp went to the same A school he did so at least he knew someone. (plus it was in San Antonio so that helped to be on TX soil at least!)
Brenda, Kyle has been in the Navy for 7 years and he has gone through some of that and a marriage and divorce within the first 3 years of service! He feels that if he confides in someone it will somehow go on his record and he will be thought of as unstable! I can't believe that, but I am a mom and a retired elementary school teacher, so that might be how things work in the real world! Just continue to communicate with him and encourage him to work hard and find someone to talk with. I will pray that things work out for him.
Brenda ~ My son wants out as well this week!! LOL I know its hard but onc they get to know people it gets better!! A Chaplin is a very good ideal!! My nephew just reupped & may be going to Hawaii. He hasnt found out for sure yet. I have a N4M friend that lives in Hawaii & if he needs a frined when he gets there she will go give him a big old Momma Hug!!!
My son is in San Diego right now and going thru some more of his school before he is stationed in Hawaii. You would think life would be good...got a call this morning and he was crying...says he can't do it anymore...he is too stressed out and wants to get out.....I told him probably most of it was due to he knows no one and he is all alone and away from home. He said he wasn't ready for all this.... He starts class today.
I told him to get to know some other people and make friends....to maybe go find someone on base to tak to like a chaplain or something and that he was the first person this has happened to. He is also scared about going to Hawaii.
I don't know what else to say to him...just scares me he might do something stupid. He seemed better by the end of the phone call but we will see.
Cece~ Praying for a safe trip!!
Kathy ~ Italy!! How exciting!!!
Mine deployed yesterday. The 22nd & final depolyment of the USS Enterprise CVN65. Its a historic voyage but it is still a deployment. Prayers lease for the Big E & her crew!!!
He's on his way back to Coronado! I am "picking up the pieces"---laundry, his room in order! We have a refrigerator of left-overs that I made for him while here and it is food we don't normally eat. So dad and I will try not to waste it! :)
Pray for a safe trip because he is driving back in his car.
