Hi Sancy, so far no letter to confirm, but ship11,div 102 may have PIR 3/30. We will be going!! I know where you are at, I have an older son that lives in New Braunfels. He has friends from Dripping Springs. We are in Rockwall/Rowlett, east of Dallas.

I have been doing so good lately about not thinking of my SR every minute of every day, but the past couple of days have been a little harder. He has been gone 3 weeks. I have had some letters and I got to see a pic on facebook, but that excitement has worn off and I need to be re-charged. Like some of the other parents mentioned, this is not his first time to leave home but it's the only time that my ability to communicate with him has been so limited. So thankful for this website so I can talk to people that understand.

Hi Texas Moms!!!  I am just west of Austin in Dripping Springs.  My son graduates 3/30.  Are there any other families traveling up there at that time?

We enjoyed the Navy Pier and the Sears Tower.  We also spent time at that outlet mall. We just parked downtown and took a little trolley to places because of congestion---they were having a parade!.  It was the week before Thanksgiving.

We enjoyed the Navy Peir & spent the whole day there because there is so much to see. My son graduatged in the sumer so we were able to go to 6 flags as well while we were there. Also we went to the movies. Everyone in there had just graduated LOL It was great. Take lots of tissues & enjoy your time no matter what you wind up doing!!

Re Waukegan --- Some good tips have been offered.  I will add that we travel with our Chihuahua, and have to stay where she is welcome.  We stayed at the Motel Six, and it was quite reasonable, clean, and very convenient.  Our sailor just wanted to hang out with us.  You might consider taking a laptop if you have one.  Our guy asked for computer time and shorts and shirt to sit around the room in.  We did a lot of driving and sightseeing, which gave us a terrific chance to visit in private.  Also toured the industry and science museum which was wonderful.  Our boy said he'd do the serious sightseeing later because he was doing additional training there.
