There are a couple of us in Odessa. We should have a meet and greet out here too sometime!
My oldest son left for BC (6) days ago & I have been on an emotional roller coaster & its not like this is his 1st time leaving home... We live in a small community name Midkiff we are South of Midland Tx, we're orginally from San Angelo Tx. I'm really proud of my son & his decision.
Mine too 03/02
Stay in the Waukegan, Gurnee area. It is easy to get lost in Chicago and waist alot of time. Be sure to go to both Meet and Greets and meet the other Moms you have been corresponding with on the N4M site. On Friday after PIR, you may want to just relax with your child, go to the Gurnee Mills Mall and eat. The Navy Pier is nice but easy to get lost down there. Several people spent time driving around and around wasting alot of time which isn't very relaxing. The way down to the Navy Pier is easier than getting out of there for some reason. They did let us drive into the Base to return the Sailors. We were able to park by the Chapel to return from liberty. Also parking at PIR was good too. We didn't wait to get in or get out afterwards. Everyone leaves at different times. We arrived about 7:15 and drove straight in a parked in the parking garage.
Well, lala, that feeling never goes away! After 7 years, I felt that way this week when I saw my son in a picture on the Pinckney facebook page! It's great to see because they have been deployed since August!
Oh my gosh Texas Moms...I got to see a pic of my son on the RTC facebook page. I had no idea he was in it but one mom in the other group asked if we knew anyone and I looked and there he was! OMG that is better than the letter!
TXNavyMom, that didn't work like I planned. I hit "friend you" without including a message. I'll have to wait for you to "approve" me then I can send you my contact info.
