Events are posted under the events tab on N4M's - but they get lost in there usually.  I'll be sure and post here more often when we set a date for March.  Since you are from that area - why don't you just pick a place and date and let us know!  If I can make it , I will - if not - I'll meet everyone another time!

Maria~ An ABHAN is a plane handler. It is one of the most dangeres jobs in the Navy. He moves the plane & gets it set up on deck to take off & then when it comes in he has to make it secure till its needed again. He is trying for his Yellow Shirt soon. Im excited for him. If your ever watching a plane take off & you see the person guideing them with hand signals Thats a yellow shirt they also wear a yellowshirt LOL. Hes a Blue shirt right now.

aw Laura, so sorry you missed it.  We posted it in here -but mostly we are all friends on Facebook and talk in there also.  I try to make sure everything gets posted here as well.

Send packages to a ship????  SURE!!!!!!!!!  Boy, you have come to the right place.  Not sure if you are familiar with this group:

http://www.navyformoms.com/group/mollysadoptasailorproject

Check them out!  We have won over $100,000 in grants to send things to ships!  In facet, I have about 25 boxes sitting in my spare room waiting for the time to ship them.  This month, we adopted the USS Makin Island.

We have "packing parties" and pack boxes.  We make pillow cases - and have fun.  Please join us there.

Rhonda, what does an ABHAN do? After his ship is retired will he be assigned to another ship or is e done with sea deployments ? Best of luck.

P'Nut, I know several people with a sailor on the CV.  The CV is a carrier and the Vincennes is a cruiser, so it is not the same ship.

Maria~My son is an ABHAN on the USS Enterprise this coming deployment will be the last one for the ship they are going to finally retire her after 50years of service.

I would be very interested in a Houston area meet and greet - that mid-March time is probably good for me.

Comment by Brenda Sue on January 21, 2012 at 10:36pm

Hey ladies!  You all just missed our third or fourth annual Houston meet and greet!  We always do one around Christmas!  I LOVE meet and greets - so always reading and willing for another!!

Deanna, I can pick you up in Houston - but flying into Beaumont might be cheaper - you could stay with me - I live alone.  Check out the prices for both places.  I suggest flying into IAH if you fly into Houston because there are more places there to meet and greet.

I can also pick you up at Hobby if that is a better price for you.

We just need to get this arranged.  I work for H & R Block and this is starting our busy season - want to set it for a day in March?

Spring break would be a great time for me!I am off March10 - 18.  Whatever works for everyone!  Just let me know!
