Hi Lesliet,  Sarge's number is 847-212-0246. You can text him or call he is very good about getting back with you.  You will be thrilled to get that form letter with a little note from your Son.  Getting the box with all his belongings is difficult.  I found it helpful to watch as many you tube video's about boot camp, so I could see what he was experiencing.  But staying in touch with other mom's is so helpful.  I didn't feel like I was crazy when I would just be weepy about missing him, because other mom's shared that same emotion.  The first few weeks are the hardest and than you start looking forward to PIR (graduation).  Make sure you keep a phone near so you don't miss those rare phone calls, if you get any after the initial (I'm here) call.   We some how managed to miss three calls even the all important I passed Battle Stations 21 and am now a Sailor call.  Battle Stations happens about 2/3 way through.

Welcome lesliet.  It is helpful to post what ship and division your son is in and you will get responses from other mom's who's sons are in the same ship and division.  Sarge is helpful too.  He will have a meet and greet at the Sundance Saloon and you can meet the other mom's you have talked with on Navy 4 Mom's before graduation, also called PIR (pass in review)

My son just graduated Jan 6 and is now in San Antonio doing A school.  Dale

Beautiful day here!! One of those days where it is warmer outside than inside the house! Hard to remember this is January! My daughter's birthday is on the 30 and when she was little she always wanted to have a pool party but of course never could. She might get her wish this year for her 18th!!

lesliet's - try this link http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/bootcamp-15  otherwise if you go to the main tab or the forum tab - and you can search on boot camp or getting started.  Most of the links are on the main tab - best of luck

Hi Lesliet - welcome to the site.  Make sure you sign up for the boot camp forum and then your PIR group.  Great support on all the forums.  My only son left for boot camp in feb of last year - i was a mess (lol) spent many hours on this site.  I found out that the more I learned of what he was going through the easier it was for me.  They are too busy getting through book camp so they are fine.  Also, you tub has some great videos on boot camp and battle stations (their final activity before you get the I am a sailor call).  Best of luck to you and remember no news is good news.

Hello, I am new to the site. My son left Jan 9th for boot camp. We are from Mineral Wells, which is about 45 minutes West of Ft. Worth. He is going in the Nuke program. I have joined Navyformoms.com to find out any information I can about what to expect. I am thankful I had a friend tell me about this site!! :)

I also sent a package to my son the week after Thanksgiving and he hasn't gotten it.  He did get my sister's, though, sent around the same day!  Go figure!  :)
