CB_s Mom... my son is already in GC, just started Power School. I am from the Dallas area! Go Nukes! LOL!
Texas Workforce also dose extra for military.
We lived in Lubbock and Midland for several years and loved it! When we lived there people were friendly and the way of life was not so rushed as it is in Dallas.
I thought the weather was great!
Moms
Tell your sailors to go to the Arm Forces Career Centers for jobs and tell them to take career assessment tests to find out what they really supposed to be doing after the Navy,
also have them check out Troops for Teachers program.
I work at a HS and we have had several Troops for Teachers teachers teach and they are awesome due to being in the military.
I think the public schools in the us needs alot more Military people in the schools.
due to the disciple they learn in the Military
Hope this helps.
We have help wanted signs everywhere out here. We need more workers. It may not be pretty but there is an International Airport to get you anywhere. Housing is hard to find but they are building as fast as possible. West Texas is somehow in a growing economy.
Kathleen, I'm sorry - but I don't remember what Jonis did in the Navy. What was his job? Mine still has one more year because he signed up for 5 years. With all our Federal and State prisons and numerous refineries in our area - all needing security guards - mine SHOULDN'T (I'd better start praying) - have too much trouble getting a job since his job in the Navy is security (MA).
I saw that on the news and on MSN website earlier today. That shows the world what great Men and Women we have in the military!
Laura, I am also concerned about the unemployment rate. I wish the economy could be turned around soon! My son in law is out of work right now as it is and if military persons start coming home without jobs, things will really be in a mess!
The Stennis was on the 5:30 CBS news today! They helped some Iranian fishermen and arrested some pirates!
