PNM, I am so glad you received your letters. It is a relief to know that they are ok. Just remember that the navy will take good care of them. That is one thing that made me feel better during BC. The instructors are tough but at the same time they will take care of them and work with them to make sure they succeed.

I'm so happy, I'm crying!! I got THREE letters from my son today and he also sent one to his brother!!! I cried all the way home from work because I hadn't gotten a letter or phone call. Then when I checked the mail and saw a stuffed envelope and opened it and all these letters, I cried even more! Thank you God! I needed to hear from my son. He's doing well. Says he misses me alot. Says he is excited and sad at the same time. Excited for becoming a sailor but sad that he is leaving me. Cry cry cry. He says he is homesick but that bootcamp is not that bad. Ha ha ha. In one of his letters he says he's lost track of the days. Says he knows it is Friday, just doesn't know which Friday it is. He didn't date any of his letters.

I'm so happy. I'm gonna read them over and of again.

If your sailor is on Vaction & going out of the country then they DO need there paasport. The only time they do not need their passport is when they are deployed.

We have already found this out when we went on our curise.

I think they still need to have a passport. I would love to know the correct answer as well.

THANKS!

They can fly cargo if there is space avaliable. The only problem is they can be straped in ready to take off & if someone of a hogher rank walks in & wanst there seat they get it. Then your SR has to wait for the next flight in that area. My uncel said it really sucked. He had it happen to him on more than one occassion. Thats why my SR won't bother with it.

Hoping for a letter today!!

I am constantly thinking about what could he be doing right now, what phase of training is he in, has he made new friends, did he get his wisdom teeth out, There is a lot going through my head.

He was my first born and I miss him like crazy.  I had a year to prepare for this, but until it actually happened, it didn't seem real.  About a month before he left, I started getting weepy and would tear up whenever I thought about his leaving or when anyone asked about it.  Now, I just break down and cry and have been known to sob a time or two over the past 3 weeks that he's been gone.

I'm glad that we have this forum of communication so that we at least have each other to lean on.
