1windhaven --- I had San Antonio on the brain.  He's in San Diego and on his first cruise.  Lucky you to have your son in San Antonio.

Glad those letters are coming!  Such a thrill --- and relief.

ProudNavyMom, he'll write.  I hear the Navy makes them in basic.  My boy is in San Antonio, and prefers to e-mail and call, but I really love the thrill of the boy letter.  My mother saved all of my brothers' from WWII, and they are a treasure to read.

Brenda Sue, thanks for all your help in putting this together.  Can't wait to see everyone in San Antonio.

Sherry, I read something about that in one of the post but if I remember right one of the problems is that if they are tight on time this is not the best option. Sorry I wish I knew more about this.

Does anyone know anything about our sailors having the opportunity to fly from base to base for reduced or free rates?? By the way, I am in the Ft. Worth area and my son is in San Diego :). Thanks so much for any info or advice!
